> ONE MONTH LATER <

Everything finally came out about what happened. Barbara's death and Bob's, but it didn't include the Demogorgon and stuff. They were given a 'proper' burial. The lab finally shut down and El was finally officially Hopper's daughter. Nancy asked me to help with the Snow Ball for the middle school, of course I agreed.

> SATURDAY. DECEMBER 15th <

It was the day of the Snow Ball and everything was perfect. I had to leave the house earlier, so I told my goodbye to mom. I was excited to see how Dustin's hair was going to look, since Steve gave him the 'hair' talk. I looked outside, and saw Steve's car parked. I walked outside and saw Dustin step out. He was like a miniature Steve.

"Nice hair, Dustin." I said to him.

"Thanks, Y/n." He said as he did the purr noise.

"If you're gonna do that, you're gonna scare all the ladies away." I told him as he nodded his head and kept walking. I looked up and saw Steve step out and look over the top of the car.

"You may have shitty relationship advice, but you do know hair." I told him as I walked closer to the car. He chuckled.

"Thanks, Y/n. And, uh, you look really beautiful. I mean- good." He said to me.

"Thanks, Harrington." I said as my face felt warmer. "I should get going back inside."

"Yeah." Steve said.

"See you, Harrington."

"See you, Byers." He said as I walked back inside. I stood next to Nancy who was giving punch to the kids.

"What's in this?" A boy asked her.

"Pure fuel." I told him as he got some and walked away. I looked over and saw Dustin sitting alone on the bleachers. "Hey, I'll be right back." I told her as I walked his way. I made it next to him. "Hey." He looked over at me and wiped his eyes.

"Hey" He said quietly.

"Come on." I said, grabbing his hands and dragging him towards the dance floor. We stood in the middle of the floor, and he just stood there. "Here, put your hands on my waist." I said to him as he looked at me. I put my hands on his shoulders. "Move closer." I told him. "Just a little closer. Now listen to the music, and feel it. Start to move to it." I told him as he started to move to the music.

"Good?" He asked me.

"Yeah, it's great."

"You know, out of all my brother's friends, you're my favorite. You've always been."

"Really?" He asked me, smiling.

"Yeah." I told him as I looked over to the girls looking at us.

"Girls this age are stupid. But give them a few years, and they'll wise up. And you're gonna drive them nuts."

"You think so?" He asked me.

"I know so." I told him as he chuckled. We continued to talk and dance for a while.
