ASTRID'S ANNOYANCE TOWARDS ANAKIN GREW BY THE SECOND AS HE CONTINUED TO BUTTER UP THE CHANCELLOR. It was weird to the girl how close the two were, but then again, Anakin did lack a father figure in his life–he claimed that Obi-Wan was more of an older brother of sorts. The Chancellor seemed to talk about how Anakin would be an extremely strong Jedi and how he had so much power–it was always about Anakin's power.
Despite the Jedi being blind to this, Astrid sure wasn't. Her dislike for the Chancellor had become very evident, in fact, Anakin had even asked about it once. It led to the man defending the Chancellor and Astrid just giving up on the conversation–he was too stubborn to let her point get across.
"I'm telling you, my boy, you'll grow to be very powerful one day," Palpatine's voice booms in the room. His gaze stayed glued to Anakin from the moment the two had walked into his office for a briefing about Astrid's mission on Rodia and Anakin's abrupt joining of the mission. It was like she was invisible in the room, not that she complained, she hated having the Chancellor's attention.
