A/N: Hi beautiful people! You may see I'm editing my chapters quite a bit but it's just to make sure that there aren't any grammatical errors and that they are written in the best way for you to enjoy reading them. I want to thank you for giving this book a chance and voting whenever you do. I hope you are liking Ash's story and his growing relationship with Rose. Enjoy it!
She seems to stand frozen for a second, her soft Auburn waves flowing with the breeze. Looking at me, hesitant, before jumping up and hugging me- an evident smile plastered on her face.
For a second, I'm surprised, before I wrap my arms around her waist, leaning down slightly. I think my heart is beating so loudly it will break my chest. I think that I can't think of anything right now.
"Ash" She mumbles into my chest, while squeezing my torso with incredible strength for her small frame, "I kind of missed you".
The words leave a flutter behind in my chest, making me twirl her around in my arms before lifting her up to wrap her legs around my waist.
"Oh my god, Ash"
I silently groan, at the feel of her body plastered against mine, her chest warm and heartbeat fast. Hesitantly, I put my hands on the inferior part of her thighs, holding her in place against me. Then, I make her look at me.
"You have no idea how amazing you feel right now"
She blushes evidently, red reaching the tips of her ears, "You're in a good mood"
"Of course, I always am around you" I shrug. Pull her closer.
Laughing, she pulls her chest away slightly to look into my eyes, "Asher admitting that he's capable of happiness? Impossible"
"Ha. Ha." I let out a humorless laugh "If this is how it's going to be, you're walking your cute little butt upstairs on your own"
Suddenly, she turns serious "You're going to carry me upstairs?"
"Well, not anymore I'm not." I smile through my fake scowl "I don't do nice things for people who judge me. I learnt that lesson from a very smart girl"
"Oh, really?" She plays along, "And who would she be?"
"I don't know...." I contemplate "She's absolutely gorgeous, but she doesn't let her beauty get her around in life. She likes jasmine, and hates typical red roses- despite her name" She giggles nervously and suddenly I stop, and just stare.
"God, you are exquisite."
And then I'm smiling, in a carefree way, and just marveling at her. And me. Like this. But before I can say anything, she unwraps her legs from my torso and runs her fingers through her hair furiously. Her blush still staining her neck and cheeks.
"Well, then," She takes three steps backwards, walking into her house. "Would you like to come in?"
"Of course."
Walking inside Rose's house feels safe.
I never thought that about a girl before. In the past, when I'd been with girls, I'd always felt alert and anxious. I was always fearful of when the morning after would come along and one would ask the other to leave. I knew the speech to well, as I gave it so many times. And I'm not proud of it at all. When I'm with Rose, it's like the old me is dead- I feel like I don't have to put on a facade for one night. And it's a good thing. She's made me grow.
"Alright, so this is my room. Well, you already know that but-" She stutters nervously, "I just thought I'd say something"
She's standing next to her bed in a loose cream jumper with a tie-up back. Together with some little shorts I feel like I'm restraining from cuddling up and showering her in kisses.
