The toilet flushed and I stood up, opening the stall door and walking to the sink. Looking for a mint, or gum to cure my vomit breath.

"Scar?" Unique called into the bathroom. I grunted in response and pulled out my make-up bag. "Are you okay honey?"

For about 2.2 seconds I held it together. "My mum used to call me honey."

Unique shuffled over to me and placed her hands on my shoulder's, giving them gentle squeezes. "Nobodies going to judge you if you cry."

"I don't want to cry anymore." I sighed, putting my make-up away and leaning against the counter. "I just want this day to be over."

"You're going to go out there, and we're going to celebrate the life of that wonderful women who was your mom. All of your friends are here for you, there's thousands of shoulders for you to cry on." She comforted.

"Thanks." I whispered, linking my arm in her's and leaving the bathroom. "Do you know where Melody went?"

"She's said she'd be waiting by the doors for you." Unique answered, untangling my locket. "And we'll be right behind you, waiting for the que."

My arms wrapped around Unique shoulders, squeezing them as hard as possible. "Thank-you for helping me, with all this."

"Anything for you." Unique met up with Joe and they walked into the seating area together.

"Hey Mom." I whispered, taking her hand in mine and rubbing my thumb over her knuckles. "Are you ready?"

"Ready as I'm ever going to be for my wife's funeral." She replied, leaning her head on my shoulder. "Let's make her proud."

I nodded, and we walked in together. Shaking people's hands, listening to dumb stories about their experiences with my mum. As if they even knew her.

"Excuse me everyone. If you would all please take your seats we'll get started." Melody announced. Everyone quieted down and took their seats. Melody sat down next to me, holding my hand.

The reverend stood on the small stage in front of the pedestal. "Welcome, to the celebration of the life of Katrina Angus-Marlos. She was a wonderful women, who graced us with her presence most Sunday mornings, with the company of her loving wife Melody. Katrina was a happy soul, who brought love to everything around her. Now, I believe her daughter, Scarlet has something prepared."

I nodded, and walked up on the stage. "A long long time ago, my mums told me, their song was Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer. After they told me that, I spent hours singing it, driving them crazy. So, here's a newer version of it, for you mum."

[Scar:]

Your lights are on, but you're not home

Your mind is not your own

Your heart sweats, your body shakes

Another kiss is what it takes

You can't sleep, you can't eat

There's no doubt, you're in deep

Your throat is tight, you can't breathe
