3 days into my summer program and I was ready to die.

"You call that dancing? I call that crap." Cassandra smacked her cane into the floor and rolled her eyes. "Everybody take 5 my eyes need a break."

I quickly ran over to my bag and chugged the last of my water.

"Angus! Over here." Cassandra snapped her fingers until I was by her side. "You are going to be spending all weekend training with me. I'm not supposed to pick favorites but I like making you work."

I was honored for about 4 seconds. "Thank-you so much. But I can't this weekend, I have to go to L.A. and meet with my record label.

Cassandra laughed, "Why are you even here?"

My face paled and a lump formed in my throat. "Because dancing was the one thing I did that brought my mum the most joy."

"So you're taking an intense summer dance program, that could change your whole future. Just because it'll make your mum happy?"

I huffed and stood up straighter. "My mum died last year and I made a promise to myself, that I would dance for her."

Cassandra's face softened. "I wasn't aware of your mothers passing, but you need to make a decision. You can't do everything."

"I'll be here tonight for dance." I nodded, Cassandra patted my shoulder and went back to the dance floor.

There was a nagging sound in the back of my mind, Bianca and Jake have been pushing me to talk to Cassandra. About the whole she being my biological mom, but it feels weird. I know she birthed me and everything, but I don't know her. And she kind of freaks me out.

"You need to just talk to her." Bianca groaned, pulling out the eggs and a frying pan.

I squinted at her actions and pulled out my phone. "Bianca, it is 2:36 in the morning and you are about to make eggs?"

She held the pan out and glared at me. "Do not judge me. You're taking dance classes, but I'm going for a double major in English and History. You do not understand the amount of reading I have to do by next week."

"Why are you talking summer classes then?" I asked, leaning on the counter top and watching her make her eggs.

"Because, if I'm ahead before my freshman year starts, I can focus on cheer-leading and keep my scholar-ship."

I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "Wow, you're really focusing on your future."

The door to the apartment opened and Jake came in, "My throat hurts." He croaked, "Bianca...." He whined. She held out a cup, probably filled with green tea and lemon. "I love you." He grabbed the cup and kissed her cheek, then sat down beside me.

"And where have you been at..." I pulled my phone out and checked the time. "2:41 in the morning?"

"I got a job at that singing dinner, the one Rachel and Kurt used to work at, I gotta make rent." He whispered, then chugged back his tea. "The people there are really nice."

Bianca kissed his head and sat down across from him. "I'm so proud of you." She shoved eggs into her mouth and flipped open a history text book. "But you," She pointed at me, "Need to say something to Cassandra."

Jake nodded his head, and stole a fork-full of Bianca's eggs. "She probably wants to know more about you just as much as you do her."

I looked at my friends. With their lives on track and happy. "You know what." I stood up and slammed my fist on the table. "I'm going to go talk to her right now."

"It's 2:50 in the morning." Jake laughed. I rolled my eyes.

"I. Do. What. I. Want." I seethed, grabbed my bag and running out the door.

"Nope. No, I can't do this." I sighed, walking away from her apartment door. "It's 3:20 in the morning. She will kill me."

I shook my head and turned back around. "I can do this."

Before I could change my mind again, I smacked the door and jumped away.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT!" The door swung open and Cassandra was ready to rip my head clean off my body. "Angus? What do you want?"

My eyes widened and I was seconds from peeing my pants.

"My name is Scarlet Angus and My moms are Katrina Marlos and Melody Angus, and they adopted me from a dancer, who lives in New York. I'm your daughter."
