Rory's POV
Knock Knock
I get up and go to my door.
"Yes." I look up to see Jessica outside my door.
"Hey it's breakfast and Dad wanted to talk to you guys."
"Ok, do you want me to get the others?"
"Yes please."
"Ok." Jessica leaves down the hall as I close my door. I walk over to their doors as they leave and go downstairs. I go to Riley's door last knocking.
"Who is it?"
"It's Rory." I hear some moving in the room before she opens the door. I give her a smile as she gives me a small one.
"Everything okay, Ro?"
"Yeah, Dad wanted us downstairs for something." She nods and moves to close her door behind us. We move down the hall, I spot the picture frames on the wall. A few of the family when they were younger but a lot of older photos in black and white.
"You doing okay, Ro?"
"What do you mean?"
"Like with moving."
"Oh... yeah I'm doing ok. I'm just hoping everything stays like this. You know happy." I tell her while we walk down the stairs. I grab the railing as stairs have never been my friend.
"Me too" She mutters under her breath, mostly to herself though.
We make our way to the dining room following the noise of everyone. This family is definitely louder than our old house. I mean Ruby's pretty loud as is but the rest of us aren't. Ryan only talks when she needs to. Riley I think is mean on purpose so people don't talk to her. I talk quite a bit, I think, but I'm just quiet, unlike Ruby.
I swear Ruby makes her voice louder than need be. When we were little Riley told me she thought Ruby was deaf cause she was so loud but nope she's just loud.
She fits is good with this family.
Walking in we take our seats. I'm at eh end of the table with Riley next to one of the identical twin boys. I'm not sure yet how to tell them apart yet, besides their personalities.
When we sit down Dad clears his throat and then four maids come in carrying plates and bowls of food. On the table, there are already plates, silverware, and then glasses of water but empty cups.
Dad and Oliver have mugs of what I assume is coffee but this table is big so I can't quite see. The maids set down the plates and bowls of pancakes, fruit, bacon, and sausages, and then a plate of eggs.
When the maids leave Dad and the others start to serve themselves. While doing that one last maid comes back in with two glass pitchers of orange juice. She sets them down on opposite sides of the table.
When she walks back out everyone else has pretty much grabbed their food. Dad looks at us and points to the platters for us to grab some. We each grab one pancake the other three grab some fruit. Riley looks through the food before shaking her head at me.
I grab another pancake then. The boy sitting next to her looks strangely at us.
"Why didn't you grab any fruit?" He asks me. Is he trying to food shame me? He shouldn't it's mean and he has four pancakes alone.
"She can't have bananas," Ruby explains to him while pointing her fork at me and then the mixed fruit on her plate. He nods before going back to eating his food. Still not any closer to identifying him.
