William's POV
No matter how many contacts I sign I will never get used to the hand-cramping paperwork causes me. Throwing down my pen I rub my hand and lean back against my chair sighing. Today was unusually long, I had several meetings that proved to be time-wasting, then to top off my day I got a call that one of my warehouses had been attacked. Everything went fine but still come on.
Filing away the papers that are needed for some reason, I can't even remember at this point. I leave the office I've been in since dinner. Walking upstairs I walk over and open the doors of my youngest. Ruby is laying on the bed with her phone in her hand still. Ryan has her TV still on. Rory is curled up in a ball in the middle of her bed surrounded by blankets. I go into Riley's room expecting to see her awake as usual.
Surprsingly she is asleep, he tv is off and her phone is on her nightstand. I can see her twitching in her sleep.
Walking closer I can hear her mumbling under her breath. Sitting next to her on the bed her words are muffled but a little clearer. I'm able to make out 'no' and 'sorry'.
She starts to thrash a little more and tears roll down her reddened cheeks. I hold onto her shoulders and start to shake her a little.
"Riley you're having a nightmare. Wake up."
Her tears start to run faster as her crying gets louder. Giving up I pull her up and bring her up into my chest.
She thrashes a little more but abruptly stops and wraps her arms around me crying into my chest.
"Shh it's okay. I got you. Your safe" I run my hands through her hair that became a little tangled. She holds on tighter to me wetting my shirt.
"It's okay. It's not real"
"But it was" I can barely make out her words as her head is still in my chest. What did my girls go through?
"What do you mean it was real?" I pull her away from me and dry her cheeks.
"Life with mom wasn't easy."
"What do you mean?"
"Mom had an obsession with looking perfect but when we were alone she wasn't a good mom. She used to beat us and use us as her personal maid service. It was are job to cook, clean, shop, if we didn't then we would get punished."
"How bad?"
"Not to bad, she would only leave bruises buy she would beat us in front of each other in some sort if sick way to prevent us from messing up." Her eyes fill with tears again. Before they fall i grab
