Rory's POV
"Have you ever been here before?" I ask Jake as we both are finally awake fully. Dad told us we are about an hour away from landing.
"No, Grandma tries to find new places for us to visit, I think this one took a little longer to find." He tells me only putting his phone down to talk to me but looks right back at it.
"Has Vincent made it there yet?"
"No, why can't you ask him?"
"He hasn't been responding to my texts since we asked him about the mafia."
"Hmmm. I wonder why." He muses with a knowing smirk on his face.
"Yeah me too," I tell him with my innocent smile. Riley calls it manipulative, but I don't think so. I mean if I give someone the smile I can pretty much get anyone to give me anything I want but I wouldn't call that manipulative, just a perk.
Anyways, this flight for me has been pretty quick. I mean I was able to sleep for most of it and the rare times I was awake I spent it texting Devin. I still don't understand why Zane was upset with me being friends with him, but I'm my own person. He has no authority over who I get to be friends with, and besides being the same age he has no right to tell me what to do.
There my rant about the jerk Zane is over. I do think he should have a more colorful name but those words are not appropriate even for thoughts.
"Are we there yet?" Blake asks for the millionth time. I keep myself from rolling my eyes to stay nice.
"Blake, do you see land?" Jessica asks him with a sickly sweet tone.
"No."
"Are we still in the air?"
"Yes."
"Have we stopped?"
"No."
"Then we're not there." She snaps at him, while he mutters under his breath.
"Dad Jess is being mean to me," Blake whines towards Dad who has been working this whole time.
"Are you bleeding?"
"No."
"Is she bleeding?"
"No."
"Is anyone bleeding?"
"No, Dad no one is hurt."
"Then be quiet." Dad doesn't even bother looking up from his laptop the rest of us hold in our laughs.
For the past few months, we've been living here everything has been better. I mean I'm never worried about Dad coming home drunk and angry. I'm not worried about my chores being perfectly completed, or my grades at 100%. Not once have I been worried that I'm gonna find one of my sisters laying bloody on the floor.
It's been amazing. I've never had this feeling of safety really. Every day I was second-guessing the things that I did, and said, and sometimes when I breathed I would be scared. Looking at my family I was worried at first I mean if they decided they wanted to beat us then there would be no chance for us.
I've been checking my phone for messages from Zane, normally every morning I get a good morning text but today nothing. Even last night when I texted my friends that I wouldn't be in school he didn't respond. I'm kinda sad and miss him... wait no he was a jerk to me he doesn't deserve to talk to me.
I try to look over at Jake's phone but he hides his phone from me and pretends to glare at me.
"Hi."
"Yes, Rory can I help you with you something?"
"I'm bored." I push my chin up against his shoulder and give him puppy eyes.
"Too bad." He ignores me and turns his phone back on. I look around the plane and decide to take another nap. Something about planes makes me tired. I lay my head on Jake's lap and he places one of his hands on my head and plays with my hair lulling me to sleep.
Third Person POV
The plane landed on the runway screeching to a stop. William lead his family out of the plane, most of them wide awake but Rory who was on Jake's back having just been woken up.
Some staff members from the airport put the family's luggage into the various cars. The youngest 6 got in the one car as the others lead the to the family the vacation house. Lea had often chosen places that they had business in as they most often had housed there but for the quadruplet's return, she wanted to find a place that none of the family had been.
Lea had rented 3 hoses for the families to stay at all neighbors with each other. She had planned out the trip down to the minute, as usual, the trip would never go to her plan completely but she always tried.
Lea had planned for them all to go on various activities, a yacht trip around the island, a few beach days, and a hike through the jungle to name a few. It was safe to say that the family would be enjoying the full experience.
Lea and Liam were already in one of the houses waiting for everyone to arrive. They had gotten a text from William of his arrival, Angelina and Azazel were yet to be there but should be arriving shortly.
The family pulled up to the large houses lining the street. Most of the houses in this neighborhood were rental properties, many of them being currently unoccupied. The youngest looked at the house in awe, the large house was very average to what they were used to but the background of the island has their attention.
From the road, they could see a jungle stretch for miles and the ocean where the sun would set. The kids got out of the car and looked at the house and waited for their older siblings to get out.
When the other 5 stepped out of the car they looked at their siblings.
"I call the biggest room!" Blake ran towards the house barrelling in up the stairs. His siblings ran after him yelling at him.
