ROSALY
It was another cold January morning, and after a few months back in Canada, Rosaly was already used to the low temperatures again.
She liked that cozy feeling that winter days gave her, even though she was a native Brazilian and preferred summer much more than winter, but she had just realized that any season with Shawn had a different flavor.
Thinking about Brazil made her think about her family that she missed a lot. She talked to her mother almost every day, but it was her physical presence that she missed. She had told her that Danielle's pregnancy was going very well, she was almost in her eighth month and both she and Ricardo couldn't wait to hold their baby in their arms. They had also prepared everything for the baby's arrival, and Daniele was now enjoying the last months of her pregnancy at her parents' home, because Ricardo was worried about leaving her home alone while he went out to work or had to take some business trip. He didn't want to risk Danielle going into labor with no one around.
Rosaly was happy for her friend, whom she loved like a sister, and hoped that the birth of her child would further bless her and Ricardo's marriage.
In a way, Rosaly felt a twinge of envy for her friend. She would love to be a mother to Shawn's children. When she thought about it, she couldn't help but imagine a little boy with brown eyes like Shawn's and that sly smile he gave her when he woke up in the morning. They never talked about it openly, but Rosaly was sure that Shawn would be an excellent father. He was caring, loving, and had solid family principles that he would surely pass on to his children.
Who knows, maybe they could think about it in the near future. At that moment she knew that it wouldn't be ideal, because Shawn was very focused on his career, and soon he would be going on tour, and she was involved with the studio and several other projects she wanted to do, so a child was not in their plans, at least not yet.
They had started the year well, after the holidays they spent with Shawn's family, they went back to the old routine of working and running around. Rosaly gave up looking for an apartment for herself, and decided that she would stay with Shawn. In fact, she couldn't see herself living anywhere else without him, it was as if after all the storm they had been through together they had created a bond that was impossible to break.
Rosaly loved being a part of Shawn's everyday life. Waking up with him, working in the studio in the morning and meeting him again in the evening for dinner and sometimes a movie afterwards. All this intimacy gave her the opportunity to get to know him better, and discover every day something new to admire Shawn and love him even more.
He continued to surprise her with gestures and attitudes that allowed her to put together a single piece of the puzzle that made up his complex and at the same time incredible personality.
It was logical that there were some things that irritated her about him. Like his habit of leaving his shoes on the living room rug and walking around the house barefoot, or when he forgot his glass of juice in the kitchen sink, or left his wet towel on the bed, but these were small things that did not hinder their relationship at all.
Shawn was very organized most of the time, and Rosaly didn't have to worry much about cleaning the place, because he had hired someone to take care of that part three times a week, and when they were at home, he helped Rosaly with whatever she needed. And so, life for both of them went at its own pace, causing Rosaly to admit that the best thing she had ever done in her life was to move back to Canada.
She finished making the coffee and went to wake Shawn, who was still fast asleep. Another thing she had learned about him was that he hated waking up early, and only did it because he had to go to the gym, otherwise he would sleep the rest of the morning.
