SHAWN and ROSALY

Rosaly looked at herself in the mirror, and checking her appearance for the last time, before the presentation. She had braided her long hair, adorning it with a silver ribbon, her eyes were covered with eyeliner, giving her an exotic look and her lips were painted red, matching the color of her dance clothes. She was ready and just had to wait until they called her to start the show. She wasn't nervous, as she had performed so many times when she lived in Brazil that such events were common to her, even though it was the first time she danced in Canada for a bunch of rich people and their escorts.

She looked at herself again in the mirror, but her eyes stared at her reflection without seeing it. Her thoughts went far away, exactly to the beginning of that morning when she saw the strange guy in the coat, and the black hood that watched her from afar. She felt the fear turn her bowels and make her tense. Had Caio hired a detective to find her? Did he suspect that she now lived in Vancouver?

She knew that if he wanted to, he could pay the best detective in Brazil, because his dollar-filled bank account gave him the funds he needed to do whatever he wanted, against which she couldn't do anything; she was tired, exhausted from running away. She wanted to go home and start her life over again from scratch, without having the surprise of meeting Caio on one of the corners that she walked around every day. She had to end it or she could never live in peace again, and even if she decided to live in Canada forever, she wanted to make sure she was safe.

Unexpectedly, Dr. Mystery's face to appear in her memories, and Rosaly moved in the chair where she was sitting feeling uncomfortable. That incident at the Weekend that same afternoon had messed with her a lot, she couldn't deny it. He remembered his voice when he made his order, and the way he held her close to his body, preventing her from falling off had a strange effect on her, making her wonder why she felt that way.

The truth was that ever since she first noticed him at the diner, she had been intrigued. Who could he be? She thought maybe he was a businessman, an actor or something connected to music. He looked young, so she couldn't say he was a tycoon who owned one of Vancouver's many shopping malls. But the fact was that Rosaly had seen him all week sitting in the same place with his headset, and muscular arms.

Realizing the kind of thought she had, Rosaly severely censured herself. Was it possible that she was so interested in unraveling the secrets of Dr. Mystery that she had even had time to concentrate on his body? But Rosaly couldn't deny that she was quite impressed, and that she also couldn't help but notice the beauty of the facial features, the sensuality of the smile, and she only wished he would take off his sunglasses so she could see what color his eyes were.

- Rosely, are you ready? Norah, one of your students came in asking.

- Yes, I am. - she answered.

- Wow, you look wonderful! I wish I had all these curves that you have. Maybe my husband would look at me more often.

- Come on, Norah. You're beautiful in your own way. - Rosaly said, looking at the tall, thin, blue-eyed girl. - Do you remember what I told you? The dancing is to give you confidence, and make you look at yourself with different eyes. When you start to think you're beautiful, other people will admire you too.

- Thank you for the words Rosely. I'll always try to remember that. So, shall we?

- Yes - both of them went out and met the other girls who would participate in the dance.

Shawn had just arrived and had already been surrounded by several people, who wanted to greet him and talk to him. There were people of all kinds, actors, dancers, singers, models. Luckily the press had been kept away from the event hall, being only allowed to take pictures of the entrance or exit of the celebrities, giving the opportunity for those who were there to enjoy the party in peace.
