SHAWN

It was still pretty early, but Shawn was already awake. In fact, he hadn't had much sleep the night before. He'd spent half the night watching Rosaly sleep. She'd been agitated a lot in her sleep, and she'd changed her position several times, as if she was being chased away by bad dreams.

He felt the anger take over once more. It should be forbidden for girls like Rosaly to go through so many difficult times. She was so incredible, and she didn't deserve to be treated by life like that. He touched her face lightly, taking care not to wake her. Rosaly sighed and snuggled closer to him, as if even unconscious she sought protection in Shawn's arms. The serious expression on his face softened. Looking at her so helplessly made hiis heart tender. He loved her and would do anything to keep Rosaly from suffering again.

He needed to do something to change that situation. He still didn't know what he would do, but he wouldn't stand still while Rosaly had to defend herself on all sides to stay on her feet. She was so brave and so wonderful, and every day he admired her more. He had met many girls, but few as valuable as Rosaly. She was precious to him, like a rare and delicate jewel, and to think that she had been treated so badly by someone as hateful as her fiancé, left Shawn out of it.

He got up and decided to make coffee. Rosaly was always the first to get up, but that day he decided to let her sleep, because after all the tension she had gone through the day before Rosaly must have been exhausted. When he was finishing preparing the toast, Rosaly appeared in the kitchen, hugged him by the waist and said:

- Good morning. Looks like you are busy. -She watched the table set for breakfast with all the ingredients she used every day.

- I thought it would be a good idea to contribute to the breakfast. - He smiled at her.

- Thank you. Your coffee looks delicious.

- I tried to prepare it the Brazilian way, as you taught me.- Rosaly sat down at the table and served herself some coffee. She took the cup to her lips and enjoyed a good sip.

-It's wonderful. - She praised it.

-You mean I'm approved?

- Fully. - Rosaly laughed at the expression of joy that crossed his face.

Soon he sat down with her at the table for breakfast, and waited for her to address what had happened the night before, but she seemed in no hurry to talk about it. He decided to start talking about it, because they needed to figure out what they would do about it.

- Rosely, I don't think it's a good idea for you to keep working on the Weekend while this guy is still there. He proved he can't be trusted, and who can guarantee that what happened here yesterday won't happen again? - he watched her get tense and her hands shake for a second, but when he spoke his voice sounded firm.

- I already told you Shawn, I don't want him to get hurt. Besides, it was the first time he did that. John had never disrespected me before. - Shawn sighed at Rosaly's stubbornness to continue defending John.

- I don't trust him, Rosely. Shawn realized that Rosaly had misunderstood his comment from the expression he saw on her face, so he hurried to explain. - It's not jealousy, Rosely. I'm afraid he's gonna hurt you. What if I'm not around if he tries that again? - Rosaly realizing his concern, held his hand and said he shouldn't worry because it wouldn't happen again.

And suddenly she was in his arms, their bodies too close. That tempting mouth of hers that took his concentration away was an inch from his. God, how he wanted to kiss her, but he controlled himself, for they had to finish that conversation.
