Chapter 44 - Soul and heart

Rosaly felt a soft caress on her face, opened her eyes and bumped into a pair of brown eyes that were fixed on her face.

- Good morning, my love - she heard Shawn say. Have you been up long? - she asked sitting on the bed.

- It's been an hour since I woke up," he answered with a smile, continuing to touch her face. Rosaly went closer to him and laid her head on Shawn's shoulder as he surrounded her waist with his arms.

- Why didn't you wake me up before? - She asked yawning.

- And miss the chance to see the most beautiful woman in the world sleeping next to me? No way. He held her tight.

- Don't overdo it,Shawn. - She said inhibited by his praise. The beautiful one here is you. - She kissed him on the lips, and sat the rest of him down to put on his naked skin, and the desire flame began to burn inside her, but before it turned into a flame hard to contain, she walked away from him saying:

- We need to talk, Shawn. I want to explain everything that happened to you, because I left you like that.

- You don't have to explain anything. I understood your letter, even though I didn't agree with your attitude, but I understood your reasons. -Shawn didn't seem very interested in discussing it at the time, because he started kissing her forehead, nose, cheeks, and when she was going to take her  lips under his, she stopped him:

- I can't believe you weren't mad at me. You didn't feel anger or something? - Shawn took a deep breath and answered.

- I won't deny that I was hurt, because I felt as if you didn't trust me to solve this situation, and I also felt guilty that you left.

- Guilty? Why were you guilty? - she asked in amazement.

- Because I thought that I had not given you the security to stay with me.

- How could you think that,Shawn? You did everything to protect me,and when I was by your side,I never felt afraid,because you were always with me.I love you,Shawn,and I only left you because I feared for your life and the safety of your family. Caio is crazy,Shawn,and I know he's capable of anything. - She let herself be wrapped up in his arms like she used to,and she realized how much she missed being with him like that. Shawn was hier fuel,and without him,all things seemed to be colorless. During the time she'd been away from him, she'd only survived one day after another with no hope that everything would get better. But even now with happiness in her own hands, she knew that that wonderful interlude couldn't last. Shawn was still in Caio's sights, and she wouldn't risk his life for anything in this world.

- You could have talked to me, and we could have found a solution together.-he touched the rings of her hair with affection.

- There was no other solution. And if I told you,you wouldn't let me go,Shawn. - She looked at him and saw from the look he gave her that she was right. He narrowed his hug by kissing her hair:

- You don't know the hell I've been through without you. I just didn't come to you because I wanted to respect your will, but my will was to abandon everything and search the whole world until I found you. Nothing in my life matters if you're not in it.

- I felt the same way, but I had to stay strong, because I would die if anything happened to you. - She closed her eyes as if such a thought was something she could not bear. She felt the male hand on her shoulder and opened her eyes again, staring at that breathtaking face.

- Don't be like that, love. What matters is that we're together again.- Hearing him say those words, Rosaly felt restless. She needed to make him understand that it was unfeasible, at least for now.
