SHAWN

The morning had barely started and Shawn had been up for hours. He looked at his digital calendar and sighed. He had so many things to do that he was already exhausted. Worst of all, he wouldn't have time to see Rosaly, and that thought discouraged him. Seeing her every day had become a good routine, and waking up with her too.

Ever since Rosaly opened up to him about her ex-fiancée, they had gotten very close. Rosaly had come to trust him more and it had had a positive effect on his male protective ego. He had never felt that way about anyone, not even with Aaliyah had he felt this need to be around all the time, to care and love.

Rosaly was so young and had already been through so much pain. He admired her for her strength and energy, and her ability to move on without discouragement. What her former fiancé had done to her was pure mischief, and what he continued to do was even worse, he couldn't even find a proper name for it. Just to think that creep raised his hand to Rosaly, Shawn felt his blood boiling with hate. Rosaly was the kind of girl who should be loved unconditionally, treated with all the affection in the world, given flowers every day, and remembered how special she was. Hearing her talk about all the pain she had felt, and blaming herself for the acts of a man who possessed a destructive nature had affected Shawn's feelings such a way, that it had taken him a while to recover from the anger and rebellion that had been born within him. He and Rosaly made love that night, which was intense, powerful, and full of love. Shawn had wanted to give Rosaly the consolation and the security she needed at that moment. And the next day when they woke Rosaly had revealed much more about her past.

Now he understood why she ran away from social networking, why she never used the Internet, and why she changed her phone number all the time. He had wondered how Rosaly had managed to live that way, she had just had to disappear to continue living, and it hadn't been fair to her, it had been cruel and inhuman, and he hated the idea of Rosaly going through all that alone. How he would like to have been there for her, how he would like to be her protective shield, how he would like to be her support in every step of that journey, but all he could do was stand by her now, and Shawn promised to give Rosaly back everything she had lost, and make her ex-fiancé pay for all the suffering he had caused, He would find a way to make the justice that had failed her be done anyway.

With this knowledge in mind, Shawn had decided to stay away from her physically for a while. That didn't mean that his desire for her had diminished. On the contrary, it was getting bigger and bigger. It was hard for him to sleep in the same bed with her and not touch her like he wanted. There were times when he could hardly resist, especially when she clung to him in her sleep, but Shawn wanted to give her time to think about all that, without him pressing her with the urgency of his desires. He wanted her in her entirety, he wanted her to be his without reserve, and so he decided to wait until she had sufficient conditions to decide what she really wanted.

Rosaly would go with him to Toronto, he had solved the problem with her boss that morning. He hadn't argued, and he had accepted it when Shawn had asked for her day off from work that weekend. Being famous, he thought, had its advantages, too.

The day has gone totally crazy. Shawn reviewed all the details of the show thousands of times, and by late afternoon he was too tired. He still had a lot of stuff to go over, but Shawn decided to drop everything and go home to see Rosaly.

When he arrived at her house, he opened the door and went straight to the kitchen, from where a delicious scent of food impregnated the entire apartment. He had entered the kitchen, and the first thing his eyes had seen was the image of Rosaly cooking on the stove, her beautiful legs exposed by tiny shorts, the wet curly hair from the bath falling down to her waist, and the white blouse molding all her curves .

So many thoughts went through his head, but he pushed them away immediately. He could not let the satisfaction of his senses be greater than his decision not to touch her more than was allowed. He hugged her by the waist feeling the scent of the food she prepared and the smell of flowers in her hair and said:

What a wonderful smell! What are you preparing?

- Noodles with Italian sauce. You told me the other day that you loved pasta, so I decided to take a chance. I hope you like it. It's my grandmother's recipe. - that smile of hers full of dimples was tempting. He answered with all the truth of his feelings:

- I love everything that comes from you. - The kiss at this moment was inevitable, in a second she was in his arms, making him forget everything, but before he got too excited, Shawn interrupted the kiss, and said with his forehead pressed against hers:

- You're like an oasis in the desert after the day I had at work.

-Was that too hard? - she wanted to know. Shawn had later confirmed to her that part of the process was becoming so difficult because of his anxiety that everything would work out. He was afraid of failure, and that was his constant fear. To encourage him, Rosaly said:

- Shawn, from what I've heard your shows are always wonderful. Everything's gonna work out. - It was good to hear her words, they filled him with optimism.

- Still, thinking about all the details makes me exhausted. I love what I do, Rosely, but sometimes I just want to stay in my room and play the piano. - Rosaly touched his face saying not to worry, because she would be there with him. And then she smiled again, and Shawn felt melted. She had him in her hands, and she didn't even know it. He said sighing.

- That's gonna be the best part of all this craziness. - Shawn kissed her again. He couldn't help it. He needed to feel her, he needed to touch her, for an instant, just a second, and she was so delicious, her lips so soft, she was soft and warm at the same time. Shawn needed her so much that he could hardly breathe. But then he walked away, he couldn't have her now, at least not yet. His voice sounded a little husky when he said it:

- I'm sorry, Rosely. I promised I'd leave you alone this week, but I want you so badly that it gets hard control myself.. -

- Hey, don't worry. You're not alone in this, I want you too But I understand you want to stay away from me for a while. It's a lot to take in. - What was she saying? Did she think he was giving up on her? That thought made him say:

- What you told me doesn't change the way I feel about you at all. You're the victim here, not the other way around. I just think you need some time to breathe. As much as I want you, I know I can wait for your time. - He saw the look in her eye that sparked the emotion that took hold of her.

- How was I so lucky to find you? - Tears ran down her cheeks, and Shawn couldn't stand to see her cry. He dried Rosaly's tears with his lips, and he said, feeling emotional too:

- You've cried enough, Rosely. Now it's time to start smiling. And I must say it was my luck, because you make me a better man every day.

Their eyes were lost on each other as their emotions mixed, and they shared the same kind of feeling. After a few minutes, Rosaly invited him to dinner, and Shawn found out he was starving. They ate the wonderful meal Rosaly had prepared, and they enjoyed each other's company, but then Shawn had to say good-bye. There were still things to work out, and her heart broke when she saw the sadness in her eyes.

- Don't you want to stay?- she had asked. He almost gave up everything and stayed with her, but common sense prevailed:

- I can't. I still have to solve some things from the show. But I'll come by early tomorrow to go to Toronto.

So they kissed for the last time that night, but as he headed to the parking lot, all Shawn could think about was Rosaly's face, and how long the night would be without her.
