*Leighton's POV*

"I have a confession" I giggled, walking along the beach with Colby as we threw the ball for Nova.

"Yeah? What's that?" 

"Remember when Nate came over for the first time?" I asked and Colby nodded, grabbing the now slimed dog ball, listening to Nova bark, clearly wanting him to throw the ball again.

Right as Colby chucked the ball sending Nova running after it, I said "I had a small crush on him for a while" Which made him stop walking, turning to look at me.

"Wait, really?" He asked and I blushed, nodding. "Why?" He asked and I chuckled, watching Nova run back to us.

"What do you mean why? He looked hot" I laughed and Colby rolled his eyes, shaking his head.

"You're telling me this, why?" He asked and I shrugged, Nova barking at us yet again as she waited for Colby to toss the ball.

"I dunno, figured you should know. No secrets, right?" I asked and he nodded.

"Got any dirty confessions?" I asked and he chuckled, shrugged as he tossed the ball. "Ah, spill it Cole" I smirked and he had a gleam in his eye as he shook his head. "C'mon! Why not?"

"Not important" He shrugged and I frowned.

"Please?"

"Please, what?" He laughed and I sighed, leaning against his shoulder as we walked.

"I have another confession" I mumbled, feeling tired as I watched the stars fill the sky.

"M'kay, what is it?" He laughed and I sighed, standing upright again, watching Colby toss the ball again.

"I don't regret kissing you" I said softly, not daring to look over at him.

"Yeah? Why's that?" 

"I don't know.. felt right in the moment. Feels wrong to regret something that felt right" 

Colby stayed quiet and I leaned down to pet Nova, stealing the ball from her.

"You're growing up so fast Nova girl" I cooed, "You ready for the ball? I got a shit throw, so sorry" I giggled, horribly tossing the ball for her. "Surely she's going to get tired soon" I chuckled, watching her run in the sand. "So.. it's your first Christmas with us, what do you think?" I asked, not wanting to sit in the silence any longer.

"I mean, we've just hung out. I like hanging out with your family. It's kind of nice to just hang around the house in comfy clothes, playing games and talking.. It's nice not to be expected to show up in fancy clothes and have like a million second cousins running around you. I don't know.. it's nice" He shrugged and I had a small smile on my face, loving that he felt comfortable around my family.

"It's nice that Lexi and Molly have clamed the fuck down" I snickered and he laughed, nodding.

"They weren't too bad. I've met worse fangirls" 

"Oh yeah?"

"Mhm"

"You got stories huh?" I laughed and he grinned, nodding.

We walked back to my family with Nova and I saw Lexi was holding Gemma who was asleep.

"Landon's going to get a cold" I chuckled, watching my brother play in the water with Nova.

"Hey Leigh, have you heard from Kiersten recently?" My mom asked and I shook my head, slightly brushing against Colby as I moved around him, walking to the open seat next to my sister. "She texted Lexi a few moments ago asking if she could come over for Christmas tomorrow" She explained and I scrunched my face up, confused.
