*Colby's POV*

"You be good for Coco, okay?" Leighton said, snugging up the lace of Gemma's shoe.

"Why don't you get her Velcro?" I asked, confused why she was putting a two year old in laced sneakers.

"She has Velcro but it doesn't match her outfit"

I let it go, Leighton helping Gemma stand up.

"Tell mama bye bye G" I motioned towards Leighton.

"Bye bye!" She waved and Leighton shook her head, crouching and pulling the toddler into a hug.

"I love you snug bug, be good okay?"

"Oh-tay!"

"I'll feed her dinner, don't worry" I reminded her, Leighton nodding.

"Okay, I love you, drive safe and she isn't allowed dessert until she eats some of her veggies!" She warned and I nodded.

"I got it, you're off to hang out with Logan, right?" I asked and she nodded.

"Logan, Landon and I are going out for a bit, yeah"

"Well have fun and be safe, I'll see you later" I grabbed the door handle when she spoke up again.

"You have the spare key right? In case you're back before me?"

I nodded, leaning back to rest my hand on her back, placing a sweet kiss against her lips.

"I love you, I'll see you soon. Gemma and I are going to have fun, right G?" I asked and she nodded, getting antsy to leave.

"Behave you two!" She called after us and I laughed, waving.

I let Gemma hit the elevator buttons and she stared at the lights as it went down.

"Do you like elevators Gemma?" I asked and she shrugged, staying quiet. "Why are you so quiet, bug?"

"We have fun?" She asked and I nodded.

"We're going to have lots of fun. You wanted to help me surprise mommy, right?"

"YES!"

I listened to Gemma sing along to the radio as I drove, asking me questions here and there before we got to TJ-Maxx.

"I poosh?" Gemma asked and I nodded, her hands locking in on the grate of the car, shoving it. 

"Woah, hey! Slow down" I laughed, quickly grabbing the cart with my free hand.

"Coco! I ush!" She whined, her face scowling.

"You break it, you buy it Gemma, did you bring your piggy bank?" I warned, trying to keep a straight face as she scrunched up hers.  

"Iggy bank?" She asked and I nodded.

"It's holds your money"

"Monies? I no got monies" She shook her head and I laughed, "Me either kid. Some blonde hair blue eyed two year old is draining my pockets quick" I teased, Gemma completely oblivious of my teasing.

I let her push the cart through the store, awkwardly waddling behind her so she was between me and the cart.

"Coco need?" She asked, looking up at me, her head thrown back as her body faced the cart.
