"Bakugou." Kirishima called out once more.
"...what?" he asked cautiously.
"Can I call you by your first name?" he asked. Kirishima looked expectant, like a kid on Christmas morning. Eager to find out what's inside the cheesy gift wrapping paper and cardboard. His sparkling sunset red eyes were too dazzling to tear his gaze from.
"I—er—uh—uhm...." Bakugou wasn't exactly hoping for this kind of question.
' ...I thought he was going to ask me out...'
Bakugou turned scratched the back of his head at the thought.
"I mean like," Kirishima started to stammer, "You don't have to let me, it's—uh—it's a yes or no quest—"
"Sure."
Kirishima's pupils shook.
"Are—are you sure? I mean, you—"
"If I said 'sure' I meant 'sure'," Bakugou teased, regaining his composure. "Don't be a wuss." The blond rolled over to where his back was turned towards him and rested his head on his arm and started paying attention to the movie that was already 10 minutes in.
However, Kirishima found it hard to focus on such a thing, as he was burning holes in the back of Bakugou's head that even Bakugou himself couldn't help but notice.
'Why the fuck is he staring at me like that?'
It had gotten to the point where he had to pause the movie and roll back over.
"Shitty hair I swear to All Might if you don't stop staring at me I'll poke your fucking eyes out."
"Huh?"
Kirishima didn't even flinch, but he did let out a breath. Bakugou scoffed.
"If you're gonna doze then go to sleep."
"No! No no, I'm not letting the popcorn go to waste!" Kirishima chirped as he grabbed the bowl and started eating out of it, so hastily that he almost choked.
"Alright then." Bakugou unpaused the movie as Kirishima turned off the lamp.
The movie was an hour and 47 minutes, and the time went by quickly.
Bakugou sat up after the movie was over, having not even a handful of popcorn.
"That was actually a really good movie..." Bakugou started to say, but had to trail off once he saw that Kirishima was asleep.
"Tsk, what a dumbass," he whispered. His gaze lingered a little longer than it should've, but he couldn't help but admire him.
'He's so beautiful.'
Katsuki always looked at him like he was the sun. Warm and radiant and beautiful and dangerous when it wanted to be. It was an existence that could easily be taken for granted since it was always there, but was complained about when it was gone. It was an existence you hid from when it was strong in fear of getting burned. An existence that was so bright it could melt your sight if you looked too long. So as a result, no one ever really looked at it until it was laying down to rest. And as the sun sets in the west, leaving the world a gift of a vibrant and colourful sky, a person could wonder why they'd never seen it before.
Katsuki wondered how he'd never really seen Eijirou before.
Of course, Katsuki had basically memorized his face and appearance but...
