"I don't want an apology."

"Well, sucks because I'm giving you one." Kirishima huffed.

"What for? We both said the same thing." Katsuki carefully peeled his hand off his arm and started towards his dorm. Kirishima had to blink for a second.

"What?"

"We both agreed you should've never affiliated with me in the first place," Katsuki turned his keys while Eijirou had to think back to the argument.

'He...he did say something similar before I ridiculed him.'

"I uhm...I didn't really mean it. I-I just..." Eijirou trailed off, speechless. He couldn't come up with the right words to say.

Bakugou grumbled, "If you didn't mean it why'd you say it?"

"I'm stupid when I'm angry."

Bakugou paused at that. He turned around, being shown yet another side of Kirishima he's never seen before.

"So you just said that shit to hurt me?"

Eijirou nodded begrudgingly, his hand finding its way to his neck. Katsuki's breath hitched as his eyes widened.

'This motherfucker...'

"I said stupid and awful things to you that I didn't really mean. I was just..." He trailed off again, having trouble finding his words.

"Frustrated?"

"Yes!" Kirishima nodded, his chin being placed in between his forefinger and his thumb. "I was frustrated and confused because I couldn't understand why you were acting so...so..."

"Distant?"

"Yes! It was like, uhm, what's the word? Like, you—uhm, gah, like you saw something you wanted but couldn't, like, you know...?" Kirishima was snapping his fingers as if Katsuki could read his mind.

     "...have it?"

     "Yes!"

"You're really fucking bad at this."

"I know..." Kirishima slumped. "I just wanted to know what happened to make you act like that and avoid us—avoid me. I shouldn'tve tried to force you to open up to me, I should've just waited until you were comfortable with me enough to tell me. I'm sorry." Kirishima bowed as thoughts rushed through Katsuki's mind. The puzzle was finally starting to fit together.

"...come in." Katsuki opened the door as Kirishima lifted his head.

Inside the room was messy. It was usually neat and organized except for a few occasions. But pencils and clothes were strewn on the ground and some drawings were torn to pieces. It was like Eijirou was peering into Bakugou's inner turmoil that made him act the way he did.

"Maybe spite will help me finally clean this shít show."

"Don't mind if I do!" Kirishima bounced into the room and flopped on his ass on the bed. He watched as Katsuki picked up, not bothering to shower just yet. A comfortable silence fell over them, and Eijirou waited patiently for Bakugou to speak first.

"When I saw that stupid dwarf run into the road like that I..." he started, harshly tying a small trash bag together, "I couldn't help but hate my life."

     '...huh?'

"I hated you for a moment too."

"Huh?" Kirishima blinked as Katsuki started folding his clothes.

"I hated you for having a family like that. Always supportive in everything you did, cherished you and considered you, and missed you and understood you, welcomed your friends. You had the kind of freedom and love that I never had and I fucking hated you for it." Katsuki paused with his back turned. He exhaled, swallowing his embarrassment. "I hated you and I couldn't stand it."

"You know my childhood wasn't all sunshine and rainbows right?" Kirishima interrupted, feeling a bit misunderstood. "I was severely bullied, even considered suicide. And my dad left before Ayana turned two and my mom miscarried. Even highschool wasn't that great for me."

"What was his name?" Katsuki smoothly asked and continued with the folding of his clothes.

"What?"

"The whore you dated in highschool," Katsuki turned around with the most deadpan expression Eijirou ever saw, "What was his name?"

"Oh uhm..."

'How'd he know about that?'

"I understand dunce face forgetting his name, but you too?" He clicked his tongue and turned around annoyed. Kirishima had to think for a moment.

"He was an American exchange student," Kirishima admitted, "His name was Liam Amadán."

"Sounds Irish."

"How do you know?"

"I went to Ireland. My old geezers were too paranoid to leave me on my own even though I was 10," Katsuki huffed before picking up his phone to type something in it. He stared at it for a second before snorting in amusement.

"What?"

"He's so ugly," Katsuki laughed, showing his screen to the other. It was a picture of a tall, skinny man leaning against an ATV. His fiery orange hair was greasy and long and his beard had grown down to his chest. Everything in the picture was covered in mud and he had a deep frown on his face.

"Oh my god what happened to him?"

"Went back to American and decided to become one with actual shit I guess." Kirishima laughed, saying it wasn't okay to make fun of him even though he himself thought it was funny.

"Man, can't believe you dated such a worm."

"Kat—Katsuki please..." Kirishima begged him to stop through his snickers. "He—he wasn't that bad looking then."

"I hope your standards are out of Hell's sewers now, shitty hair."

"Consider them raised. You're my standard now," Eijirou mindlessly commented.

"I see your standards are still in Hell," Katsuki responded, oblivious to his words. Kirishima blushed in realization, but Katsuki's denial kept him ignorant. "Get someone that doesn't look like a gnome."

"You're such an ass." Despite feeling bashful, he continued to laugh at the insults towards his ex. Katsuki put away the last of his clothes and started organizing his pencil set.

"I get it from my mother."

The mood in the room dramatically shifted. It was heavy and overwhelming, but Kirishima couldn't hold his tongue any longer.

"What was your childhood like, Katsuki?"

He was silent for a moment. Still in his movements as if he was caught red handed.

"We both had shitty childhoods."

He didn't say anymore. Katsuki was careful not to undermine Kirishima's experiences and trauma, but Eijirou thought he understood why Bakugou was jealous of him and completed Katsuki's sentence for him in his mind.

"We both had shitty childhoods, but at least someone was there for you."
