Shore-Leave of 2280
Working for The United Federation of Planets and Star-Fleet Command was no piece of cake and not certainly for any one of the number of Starships and its officers and crew.
The Star-Fleet Officers and crew worked long, endless hours and sometimes for weeks, months, and years on end without a single shore-leave.
So, when one of the many Starships were given shore-leave for relaxation and rest it was rare delight and pleasure to the exhausted officers and crew.
Star Base 10 and 12 had always been patrolled by the United Starship Enterprise first commanded by Captain Pike and later on Captain James T Kirk and his fine officers and crew.
Captain James T Kirk was the son of a Star-Fleet Officer himself, but his father died saving the starship he was serving on and his mother and him escaped and they returned to Post World War III Planet Earth in 2230, and he grew up with his uncle, his older brother, Samuel Kirk, and mother.
James T Kirk at a young age got into some mischief by borrowing a car that he was too young to drive, but the law enforcement in Iowa didn't consider it borrowing rather they charged him with Grand Theft auto.
The Court gave him a choice either prison or enlisting in Star-Fleet Academy, so he chose the latter and enlisted in Star-Fleet Academy in San Francisco, California.
While aboard the USS Enterprise, he met another young officer, Leonard McCoy, himself the son of a baptist minister and he couldn't follow his father in the ministry as he wasn't a religious young man.
Also at Star-Fleet Academy, he met a young instructor named Lt. Commander Spock, whose father was the Vulcan ambassador to the United Federation of Planets and his mother was from Planet Earth and their son, Spock grew up with a number of limitations that he overcame with the help of his mother, Amanda.
Lt. Commander Spock was treated like Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer by his peers as he wasn't a full blooded Vulcan and they would make fun of him, but Spock had to learn to control his human emotions.
Spock was given a place in the Vulcan Science Academy, but he refused stating he would attend Star-Fleet Academy and the Vulcans couldn't understand why Spock turned down such an offer.
Also, James T Kirk met a young Zulu officer named Lt Uhura and she was the communication officer on board the USS Enterprise.
The young Cadet James T Kirk also got into some trouble at Star-Fleet Academy with an upper-classman named Lt. Finnegan, a young Irish man and they tangoed and James T Kirk whipped his ass and he never forgot about Finnegan.
Cadet James T Kirk rose to the rank of Captain and he was given command of The United Starship Enterprise upon the accident of Captain Pike and he was well liked, respected and friendly and his officers and crew loved him as he was a very caring individual.
He was also rebellious and known to defy The United Federation of Planets and Star-Fleet Command.
James T. Kirk was also a ladies man and he had many young women but he was never serious about anyone, perhaps for the exception of Janice who later had his only child and son, David.
Captain James T Kirk was married to his career and Janice wasn't married to her career, so they departed and she never told him that she was expecting their son, David.
Right when, James T Kirk found out that he had a son, he was brutally murdered by Klingons, and James T Kirk promised to hunt them down and kill them for murdering his son on Planet Genesis.
Finally in the Pagan Year of 2280, Star-Fleet Command granted the USS Enterprise shore-leave after two years of patrolling Star-Base 10 and 12.
Star-Fleet Command asked Lord Andrew Charles Howard, Duke of Norfolk Territory and his wife, Lady Karissa, Marchioness of Pembroke Territory to please extend the officers and crew their hospitality during their 4 weeks of shore-leave.
