Anya sat in the middle of a classroom on a wooden stool with a list on her lap as she watched her professor inspect her performing her regular club duties.

She looked through the list of students with careful eyes. Her eyes made their way up and down from the list to the face while she check-marked everyone who was in attendance.

Her pencil stopped when she got to the name Damian.

She looked up.

He wasn't there.

She blinked a few times before frowning.

Not again.

This was the second club meeting this week he had missed and Anya was beginning to get a bit concerned. There was a fall entry competition and the art club supervisor had recommended the two enter something together.

It didn't help that Damian wasn't answering his text messages either.

She frowned a bit more.

She saw him in the hallways during school but he didn't even look her way. He didn't even seem to be looking or talking with his friends. He had a drained look on his face as if he there was nothing good happening around him.

She knew he was alive though. The fact he was openly ignoring her made her feel a type of way. After all, she considered him a friend. A good friend at that.

...

That was a lie. She did not just consider him a friend. She wanted to be more than friends.

It hurt that he wasn't near her.

She spoke not wanting to hold up the meeting, "Let's start."

::

When the meeting ended Anya found herself walking through a bunch of puddles. Her feet walked along them, sometimes splashing water around as she smiled a bit.

She could hear Mr. Henderson's voice in her head as she twirled in the rain holding her umbrella.

Not elegant.

Not elegant.

At the moment she couldn't care less. There was no one around to judge her, at least, no one she could see.

On top of that, everyone from the art club had already gone home. Her father was the only one stuck in traffic.

She closed her eyes for a moment trying to enjoy the peace and quiet when she stopped suddenly.

Her eyes narrowed spotting something someone in the distance. Who in the world was that?

There was a student sitting on the bench in the middle of the rain.

Or were her eyes mistaken?

Her eyebrows furrowed.

She didn't have to think much before she headed toward the person.

Upon closer inspection, she realized she was indeed correct.

It really was a person. Were they okay? Why was someone just randomly sitting in the rain?

She stood behind them wondering what she should do before her inner good side took over.

She held the umbrella over the person's head.

"Are you alright?" she asked.

...

She watched as the person turned around and her eyes widened.

He blinked.

"I knew it was you. I recognized your voice."

"Damian!" Anya rushed to sit beside him on the bench as she set the umbrella between the two of them, "what's wrong?"

...

"Nothing really."

Anya looked at Damain's eyes in a silent stare.

He was lying.

Her thought was confirmed a second later.

I'm not gonna say anything.

She pursed her lips. Had something bad happened?

"You haven't been at the last two meetings...I thought something was up but for you to be sitting out in the rain like this-"

"I'm okay. Nothing's wrong. Thanks for your concern."

Anya leaned back a bit.

She wasn't expecting such a prompt shut down and she found herself sitting there thinking in silence.

"O-Oh...is that so. I'll...I'll stay with you for awhile."

...

Anya looked down at her hands for as the two sat in silence.

The two said nothing but Anya couldn't help but sneak a glance at Damian every time she heard some key thoughts.

Two more days.

...

Two more days and he'll be gone.

...

Why is he even here anyway?

Anya jumped when Damian looked at her, "You keep looking at me."

"Because you're lying."

...

"You're not fine at all Damian, are you?"

He said nothing. He only looked at her with hollow empty eyes that seemed to display nothing at all. They held no emotion, they were growing cold.

"Life's not great right now," he said simply.

"Oh," Anya said looking up at him, her lips pursed, "that makes two of us."

...

Damian looked over at her slightly surprised, "What's up with you?"

...

"Perhaps I'll tell you some other time."

...

"Do you need a ride or something?"

Damian shook his head, "I don't wanna go home."

Anya was about to say more when she heard a honk.

She looked up to see a black car behind her with a very focused ex-spy in it. He was staring daggers at the two of them being together.

She ignored her dad's gaze extending her hand to grab Damian's.

"You're coming with me right now."

Damian tilted his head at her.

"You need a cheer-up session," Anya said, her face brightened as a smile spread on her face, "I'm giving you an invitation to Anya's world. Do you wanna come?"

Damian's lips parted.

"Anya's world?"

The pinkette nodded a blush spreading along her cheeks.

"Alright."
