A day passed when Damian finally woke up and chose violence. He had been pondering for the last few days the timing of when he should approach his father but just this morning it had hit him suddenly.

He was tired of thinking about it. He was tired of having it in the back of his head and so he decided he was going to address the problem.

He had already made a great deal of progress in the last three days. He had managed to pull some strings behind his father's back, using connections to help Anya secure a spot or two in various universities.

He hated using under-the-table tactics to get his way but considering he was directly going against his father it seemed this was the only way he would be able to get what he wanted.

He knew his father wouldn't try to undo what he had already done. It would be too disgraceful but at the same time, he knew once he found out there was going to be a huge fight.

Still, for some reason, the idea of having a huge feud with his father actually bothered him. In the strangest way, he actually wanted to avoid such a thing.

Somewhere in Damian, he desired his father to concede to his relationship. He wanted him to accept the two of them being together.

But for that to happen would it take a miracle of some sort?

Making his way out of his room, Damian began walking down the hallways as he made his way to his father's office. There was no doubt in his mind he was still there. It seemed unlikely to him that his father would bother going anywhere, especially since he hadn't received news about Damian cutting off his relationship.

He knew he would be there already and so after knocking just once, he allowed himself entrance into the large room.

Donovan was already in his office.

Damian's father looked up at once to see his son before frowning.

It wasn't usual for his son to come in so early in the morning-in fact, in his memory it had only happened once. Donovan knew something was up already and his theory was only confirmed when Damian refused to sit down walking all the way to his desk before looking down at him.

Dropping the pen that was in his hand, Donovan leaned back in his chair and folded his hands neatly.

"Can I help you?"

"Yes."

"With what?"

"Anya."

...

Donovan didn't immediately react to his words but the look in his eyes changed.

Damian could feel the tension in the air but shoved it away upon realizing how upset his father looked. Seeing his father upset made him upset.

He couldn't seem to fathom why his father wanted him to give up the girl he wanted so much.

Anya.

He wanted Anya.

Why couldn't he have her?

If he wasn't going to be allowed to have her, then his father wouldn't be allowed to have his peace of mind either.

"What about the girl?"

"I've decided I don't want to give her up."

Donovan immediately picked up the phone and processed to dial a bunch of numbers-

Damian didn't care. He had already settled that matter.

He wanted his father to concede to her now.

"She's coming over tomorrow."

He stopped.

"Damian-,"

"I'm quite serious."

"You know you're going to regret this," he deadpanned.

Damian stood unphased. He figured a threat would come.

"I want you to meet her."

Donovan spoke, "I'll cut you off the inheritance."

Damian forced himself not to roll his eyes.

"Then do it," he said simply.

Donovan looked coldly at his son. He couldn't seem to fathom what had happened to his son. Since when did this girl come in disrupting his life? Why in the world did he like her that much?

Even if his son generally disliked him, which he could handle, he had never gone to this extent to defy him.

"Do you like her that much?"

"Yes."

...

"Do you really want to be with her?"

"Yes."

...

"...I'll think about it."

There was a silence between the two.

Damian's eyes widened.

What?

What had his father just said?

He stood still for a moment or two as his eyebrows furrowed.

Had his father just said he would think about it?

Since when had his father ever been understanding?

Despite that, he wasn't going to argue with it, this was a good thing.

Donovan seeing his son's surprised expression didn't react. His son probably thought he was a demon of sorts, but in reality, he considered himself just being reasonable. Taking a look at the work in front of him his mindset switched, he was busy. He already didn't like this Anya Forger. He doubted meeting her would change his mind. He looked back down at the papers in his hand.

"Is that all you have to say?"

"Yes."

"Then step out."

Damian turned his back to his father and began walking out.

He didn't bother looking back.
