𝓬𝓱𝓪𝓹𝓽𝓮𝓻 𝓯𝓲𝓯𝓽𝓮𝓮𝓷Donovan Desmond was finally in town.
He didn't announce his visit to anyone. He kept the news to himself in an effort to go under the radar. He didn't want to draw any unnecessary attention to himself. He wasn't even supposed to be here in the first place.
He had flown in for one thing, and one thing only.
He was here to check in on his youngest son Damian and be sure he was upholding the Desmond standards.
What he had heard over the phone from the head butler was alarming. A commoner? A friend?
His son was friends with a low-class peasant?
It sounded atrocious to him.
A part of him didn't want to believe it was true. He had always reinforced the idea that a person should interact with people at the same, or similar status in his household. It was defining rule. It was the reason Damian even went to Eden, to be of people on his level.
A younger Damian had seemed to adopt this thought process, at least, as far as he could see.
Why was it that Damian was now straying from that narrative?
No.
He wouldn't believe it.
He had to see it with his own two eyes, this commoner girl that was messing up his son's ideals.
Currently, he sat in the back of a black car. The windows were tinted, no one could see he was even here and he preferred it this way, he mostly moved in silence. It was partly the reason why half the time no one knew where he was, even his own son didn't know he was in town.
The driver was taking him back to the Desmond manor and Donovan was already formulating plans of how he would destroy their friendship. He wasn't happy but at the very least this person was just a friend and friendships could easily be broken.
'Anya Forger'
A student who also attended Eden Academy but had no significant wealthy background backing her up.
He knew all about her. He had found out right after hearing the news. She was a girl who was talented in art, she had won a couple prestigious competitions here and there but besides that, she was nothing special.
That was exactly the problem.
His son deserved only the best, he deserved the top level of specialties and this 'Anya' did not meet the criteria.
Driving through a busier area his eyes followed the passing images in silence. He still couldn't figure out why such a thing had happened in the first place, Damian should've been especially focused during this last year in the academy, he had no time to be wasting on futile matters.
Suddenly he spotted something that caught his attention.
On the sidewalk, he saw a pink-haired girl walking beside what looked like...
No.
It couldn't be.
It had to be a coincidence.
It took only a few moments for the imagery that had just passed him to settle in his mind.
That was Damian?
Donavan turned his head calmly towards the driver, "Turn the car around."
The driver only gave a nod before following the simple instruction.
...
Donovan watched the two figures walking from the other side of the street.
"Go a bit slower," he instructed as the back-view of the two turned into a front view.
His lips formed a straight line.
It was without a doubt his son.
They were now holding hands. His son and this girl were holding hands. This was no friendship. This was more than that.
Upon seeing his son with a pink-haired girl, Donovan was unusually calm. Almost as if seeing his son with a girl like this didn't bother him. Anyone who truly knew him, however, knew that was a lie.
He rarely ever showed emotion on his face, but his feelings at the moment were rather detached.
He wanted that girl far away from his son.
Observing the two, Donovan noted that the two looked happy together, his son looked happy and he hated it.
"Would you like me to pullover -"
"No," Donovan said turning his head away from the scenery, "Take me home."

When Damian returned home the house was quiet. It was later in the evening, Saturday was almost over and the rest of his weekend was going to consist of studying. He needed to stay on top of things, so far, he was doing okay.
He had enjoyed his time with Anya thoroughly. He always did.
The day had been filled with pleasant feelings but as he walked silently through the halls he realized something was not right.
It was awfully quiet in the house.
He was used to it being quiet but not quite like this. This quiet was haunting and unusual.
He figured something was up.
"Damian."
His feet stopped at the voice he heard. His mind began to surge as he recognized it at once. It sounded like his father.
He turned around slowly.
He looked and saw his father. This man had shown up without notice, no wonder it was so quiet.
Before he could speak his father handed him an envelope.
Damian was confused at first, but instead of asking questions he opened it.
His fingers drew out what was inside it.
He was met with a picture.
It was of him and Anya, and it wasn't the only one. His eyes widened as he flipped through multiple photos.
To say anxiety hit him was understatement. He had been caught. It had actually happened, his father had found out and so early too.
"Damian."
His head rose meeting the seemly calm man in front of him.
"Let's talk."
