𝓬𝓱𝓪𝓹𝓽𝓮𝓻 𝓼𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓮𝓷Going to see the person that your father didn't want you to be around the day after he had warned you was taboo.
Damian didn't care in the slightest.
He was fully ready for the occasion, dressing down in order to not seem flashy and promptly walking out of the manor to go meet his girlfriend.
The butler had already prepared the car for him and Damian took the keys from him before speaking, "Did you check for a tracker?"
"Of course."
"Good," Damian spoke hopping into the car and starting the ignition.
In truth, he couldn't remember the last time he had driven alone. His father had made it a point to make him learn as soon as he was of age just for him to receive a butler to drive him all over the place.
Luckily he had made a close relationship with this butler so he was able to bend the rules from time to time. Today, was one of those times.
As he made his way towards Anya's place he went over all his thoughts in his head. His father had threatened him? It didn't matter.
He had his own threat he would use at the end of the week. Hopefully, it would work out. In a way, he was gambling a bit but he assumed that it would all pay off in the end.
Time passed and when he finally got to Anya's place he promptly hopped out and walked to her front door.
He knocked and a second later the door was flung open and he was pounced on.
"Anya," he huffed, wrapping his arms around her firmly.
"I missed you," she said.
"It's only been a day," Damian commented as he pulled away cupping her cheeks.
Anya looked up at him, "I know," she said her cheeks fanning red, "I just was thinking of you..."
He smirked at her words before pausing. He looked forward suspiciously wondering if her parents were home.
"They're out for the day."
Damian nodded slowly but then frowned. How did she know that was what he was thinking?
His question wasn't answered as he felt her pull him into her apartment.
As soon as he walked in however he was stunned. His eyes looked all over her apartment in confusion.
"Why so many paintings?"
Everywhere Damian looked there were art pieces laying around. The room was cluttered with them but instead of finding it messy Damain found it fascinating at how much Anya had drawn.
"I'm getting my portfolio ready. You know, for the universities."
Damian watched as Anya walked passed him to go to her bedroom while he continued to gaze at the living room in silence.
She certainly was a hard worker. He could only imagine the amount of time and effort it to took her to complete this.
Getting out of the living room Damian walked into Anya's room to see even more art. His eyes looked at the room fascinated for a different reason. Just a couple days ago it was perfectly clean and spotless, all of a sudden it seemed like she was locked into this.
Damian began to feel uneasy as he looked around him to see a bunch of paintings.
Anya was not just a hard worker, she might've been a workaholic.
He hadn't even noticed. Did that make him a bad boyfriend?
He looked towards her table seeing the small portrait he had drawn of her and smiled.
This piece was probably the only one that hadn't made of her, and somehow brought back sweet memories. Back then everything had just started. They had come so far from just being friends to becoming lovers...and now an outside force threatened to ruin all of that.
Damian looked over at Anya.
"You kept this?"
Anya nodded, "Of course I did. When I look at it makes me happy."
It was the tiny details that warmed his heart the most.
"You know Damian, I'm scared though. I'm always expanding my portfolio but I still feel scared."
Anya looked at him with worrisome eyes, "I'll get in won't I?"
Damian hesitated a moment.
He bit his lip.
"I think you will. I'm pretty sure you will."
He couldn't mess this up.
His pressure-free attitude left at once as he realized how much this meant to Anya. He would hate to be the person who hindered her dreams, even if it was indirectly.
He debated telling her the dark intent that his father had but in that moment he decided not to and instead held his tongue.
He would handle this himself.
He would make things go smoothly without saying anything.
He didn't want to involve her in his issues. She was probably already stressed out enough.
Damian approached her hugging her softly.
"I'm positive you'll get in."
His words reassured her but at the same time, Anya couldn't help but wonder why his thoughts sounded so uneasy.
Why was he thinking so heavily about his dad?
What did his dad have to do with her?
She didn't ask but kept it in the back of her mind monitoring him as she laid her head on his chest.
Damian knew what he had to do.
His resolve was solid.
Anya was going to be successful.
He was going to make sure of it.
