Chapter Nineteen
"Okay, we're meeting him in here."
A month later, Dad and I had entered a bar and I was super excited. We were going to see Dr Owens who had some news for us.
Dad and I entered the busy bar and spotted Dr Owens, we both took a seat. Dr Owens has a plate with a sandwich in front of him.
"Dr Owens, this is my daughter, Juno." Dad introduces and Dr Owens smiled at me.
"Finally get to meet the infamous Juno," Dr Owens tells me and I grinned.
"I finally get to meet Dr Owens," I replied back happily.
"Chief-o." Dr Owens greeted, nodding towards my Dad and I laughed a little.
"How's the leg?" Dad questioned him.
"Better." Dr Owens answered. "Pretty sure my football careers over. Want some of this? No way I'm gonna finish it."
"No, I'm uh... On a diet." Dad had told him.
"Well, you're a better man than me." Dr Owens smiled. "Hey, I got a little something for you." Dr Owens hands over an envelope to Dad. Dad opens the letter with a frown, a birth certificate with Jane Hopper on there. "Congratulations, Hops."
"I thought—"
"Sometimes I impress even myself." Dr Owens nods. "Still, I'd let things cool off for a while, if I were you."
"How long is a while?" Dad asked and I couldn't be more than happy. Eleven is finally my sister.
"Want to be safe? I give it a year." Dr Owens advises us and I nodded.
"A year?" I asked, bewildered as Dad grabbed a sandwich and I laughed. Suddenly, there was a honk outside. "And that's my ride."
"Be home at a decent time, Juno," Dad tells me. "Don't want to keep your sister waiting."
I grinned. "I promise, Dad." I kissed his cheek before standing up. "It was great meeting you, Dr Owens, and thank you so much for everything you've done."
With that, I rushed out of the hideaway bar and towards the parking lot, seeing Steve with those stupid sunglasses. "There she is!" Steve grinned happily and when I met him, he swings me around in his arms, giving me a greeting kiss. "Hello, beautiful."
"Shut up." I laughed, wrapping my arms around his neck. "You know, we never made us official."
"Oh, so you want us to be official now?" Steve teased, pressing his forehead against mine. I nodded to confirm. "Well, Juno Hopper, will you be my adoring girlfriend?"
"I wouldn't say adoring..." I rolled my eyes. "But yes, I'd love to be your girlfriend."
We sealed it with a loving kiss, my heart completely full of love.

"Pretty?" El asked me as we stood in her new room. We stand in front of a mirror. I had picked out a dress and done her hair and makeup for the winter formal ball that Mike had promised to take her, and Dad made it happen.
"Absolutely stunning," I tell her, kissing the top of her forehead. "You're gonna knock Mike's socks off."
El smiled at me happily. "Thanks, sister."
"No problem, sister." I nudged her and she giggled, Dad knocked on the door.
"Are you girls ready?" Dad asked and he stares at El with a happy smile.
"Yes." We both responded. I knew Steve was helping out Dustin and I was going to meet him at the ball so we can go off to the Skull Rock and spend some alone time together.
Half an hour had passed and we dropped El off outside Hawkins Middle School hall, where everything was decorated from head to toe. Dad waited for a bit with Joyce and I saw Steve pull up with Dustin and I make my way over to the car.
I opened the door for Dustin and he looked handsome. "Wow! Look at you." I grinned. Dustin's hair was super loaded with hair products, and I found it cute. "You're gonna knock those ladies to the ground."
Dustin climbs out of the car. "You really think so?"
"I know so." I winked at him as Steve comes out of the car and wrapped an arm around me, I pulled in closer to him. "Have fun, Dustin."
"I will, Juno." Dustin grinned at me before walking into the hall. I turned to Steve, wrapping my arms around him.
"You're so cute around the kids," I tell him. "And I have to say, I'm really proud of you for finally growing up and not being the douchebag I use to know."
"Thanks?" Steve frowned at my compliment and I laughed. I kissed him on the lips and I saw Dad eyeing us carefully. I waved goodbye to him and Joyce and entered the car with Steve holding the door for me.
I thought about how everything was finally over and that life was going to be normal for once.
However, I was dead wrong.
