"Parents are so stressful. Why can't they just love me without me having to earn it?" Pansy stressed as we got ready in the morning.
Winter break had just passed so we were already halfway done our first year. Half a year to strengthen friendships.
"What are your parents expecting of you?" I asked in concern.
"It's really only my dad. My mom on the other hand doesn't think much of me. My dad wants me to raise our family's worth by marrying Draco. I won't lie I do have a bit of a crush on him, but I don't want to be pressured into chasing him. Then there's my mom point blank telling me I'm not worth a Malfoy and to aim for a Crabbe or Goyle." Pansy said as she handed me the letter she'd received the day before.
The girls stood around me as we read the letter. I could feel my anger burning at the way the Dark families here treat their kids. The girls mentally abused more than physical though some were also physically harmed. The boys receiving both physical and mental abuse. Draco though was mostly just mental abuse as well as he did have a mother who loved him with everything in her so Lucius can't physically move against his son. Blaise was tougher to get through too. I had no clue what he was going through, but I knew it was possibly worse than everyone else. After knowing him this long I know his interest in girls is just an act and he actually likes boys. As for Theo he doesn't bother to hide his hatred for his father or how he's treated so he's been taken in by my family. He went home with me on the holidays completely ignoring his father when we stepped off the train. We had the same plan for the summer.
We all group hugged Pansy before we finished getting ready. I then helped do Pansy's hair in a way that complimented her facial features.
"You really are quite beautiful, you know?" I asked.
"You really think so?" Pansy asked.
"Well just have a look at you Panse." I said as I pointed into the mirror.
A good hairstyle can do miracles and Pansy was looking and appeared to like what she saw.
"Thank you Kat." Pansy said.
"Anything for one of my girls." I said with a warm smile.
"Can you do my hair?" Tracey asked.
Daphne also being talented took over Millie as I helped Tracey. When we were done Daphne and I looked at each other with pleased smiles.
"Well girls, we best head to breakfast as the boys will never forgive us for taking this long." I said.
"You aren't kidding about that." Millie said.
We headed downstairs and was met with annoyance with the boys minus Blaise.
"Who are these beautiful goddesses descending the stairs from the very heavens themselves?" Blaise asked with his hand on his heart.
We all giggled while I rolled my eyes and elbowed Blaise as we headed to breakfast.
"Pumpkin juice for the Slytherin Queen." Theo said as he handed me my juice.
"Breakfast for the Queen." Draco said not to be outdone.
"And the King to the Queen is right here." Blaise said as he fluttered his lashes from across the table at me.
I snorted a bit inelegantly as I kicked him under the table.
"You wish B. I haven't found my King or Kings yet but when I have I'll let you all know." I said with my nose in the air.
"Kings, huh?" Millie asked with wide eyes.
"Of course. I'm hard to handle." I teased.
"She's not wrong." Theo said.
"She is pretty high maintenance." Draco agreed.
"As she should be. She's a Queen." Blaise said in approval.
"Oooh look the golden trio light bulbs have lit up! I think they finally know what we've known all along. If they figured it out you all owe me." I said.
"I suspect you're right. Well, new bet then in case you're right. How long before they go to risk their lives to save the Philosopher stone like the Gryffinbrats they are?" Draco asked.
"Tonight." Pansy said.
"In a month." Daphne said.
Crabbe and Goyle went with Pansy for tonight. Draco and Blaise agreed they'd do it in a week. Theo, Tracey and Millie decided they'd do it during the next Hogsmeade outing when the castle would be mostly empty.
"And you?" Theo asked.
"End of the year and I bet it'll get them the points to steal the cup from us." I said.
"NO WAY!" They all chorused together.
"I guess we'll see!" I said.
"That we will." Draco agreed.
Later in the library we heard them talking about the stone and everyone paid up to me about them figuring it out.
"Well now that we know what should we do? We've completed our homework and we have time before curfew." Daphne asked.
"Dance party?" I suggested.
"Yesss!" Blaise said excitedly.
I had happily exposed them to muggle music with my Walkman. I'd also introduced them to the Room of Requirement. So we often have dance parties when we have nothing else to do. We bounced out of the library together in high spirits as the golden trio watched in suspicion.
"Hey where do you all think you're going? You aren't having a dance party without the party right?" Fred asked as he threw his arm around me.
"Why would we ever leave out the only Weasley's we can stand?" Draco scoffed.
"I'm here too." Lee offered.
"Sure you are mate." Blaise said as he threw his arm around Lee.
It was definitely hard to get my friends to come around to the Twins but also not hard I mean they are very lovable when you're not at the end of their pranks. It started with the muggle music. I said it was witches and wizards that were famous in Bulgaria and once they realized how good the music was and loved it then I admitted it was muggle music. That was the first step to getting them to realize maybe muggles weren't so bad. Obviously Crabbe and Goyle weren't part of this. From there I pointed out the same things I did to Draco about the lack of proof. Then I taught them basic muggle science about incest and the consequences of it. Once they understood that and believed it since it did have evidence backing it up unlike muggles stealing magic. Once I had them on board with that is when I dropped the bomb that Voldy Moldy is a half blood who is actually related to me. That had been a real shocker wondering if their parents know that. I wasn't sure but I was sure that Abraxas knew so there is a chance Lucius does as well. Draco was not happy about that to be raised the way he was while knowingly following a half blood.
"What should I play first?" I asked everyone.
After much argument we agreed on New Kids on the Block and we began dancing along to Step by Step. Next by demand of the twins we danced to Can't Touch This. I have to say that out of the boys the Twins, Lee and Blaise had the moves. They were good dancers. Theo and Draco weren't as free spirited to just let go. The girls were a little better mostly to my encouragement to be more free and just feel the beat. We didn't realize how much long we were dancing until it was already past curfew. We were no strangers to the map as the Twins whipped it out.
"Your way back to the dungeons is clear. Our way not so much but we'll have the map to help us. Good night!" George said.
Both twins gave me a kiss on each cheek before running off. We all made our ways to the dungeons still staying alert just to be safe. But as the twins promised we arrived back without trouble. I wrote them a note to make sure they made it just fine. I pulled Blue from my shoulder and gave it to her. She already knew where to take it. Mrs. Norris never gives her trouble, so my familiar took off. Soon she was back with a note letting me know all was well. I drifted off to sleep cuddling my familiar.
