"Vae, come on. Wake up!" the person who was pulling my arm and attempting to get me out of my creaky bed grumbled.

Without opening my eyes, I smacked their arm (or at least, I thought it was) and heard a pained groan. I smirked and snuggled deeper into my worn-out purple blanket. Not even a second had passed, I felt myself leaving my bed in a seriously abnormal way and onto something hard and bony. When I finally opened my eyes, I saw the wooden floor of my house and I found myself hanging onto someone's shoulder. I turned to my right and saw a familiar brunet with a nasty red handprint on his right cheek.

I stifled a laugh and hit his back several times, "Jay, you could let me down now."

And with no hesitation, Jay immediately put me down before gently touching his cheek and winced when his hand made contact with the bruised skin. "I am never waking you up again." He said while sending a glare at me.

"Well," I shrugged and went to the kitchen to take some ice before placing it into a piece of clean cloth, "Serves you right. You know how I am in the morning, idiot."

After I finished tying the cloth, I handed him the ice compress and heard Jay mutter a thank you before placing it gently onto his cheek, "How can I not know? We've literally been neighbors since birth. And it gets worse every time."

"And you should deal with it 'cause I'm the older one." I took the cloth from Jay as the ice started to melt and threw it directly into the laundry basket, "Now get out of my house before my hands meet your charming face."

"Ugh, finally!" The purple-haired girl exclaimed while throwing her hands in the air after she saw me sprinting towards them, "I can't believe there's someone who washes up longer than Evie."

Evie, who was touching up on her makeup, immediately snapped her head towards us with an offended expression on her face, "I did not!"

"Evie, chill. Well, Mal, I need to look more flawless than I already am." I winked at the two girls before turning towards the others, "Guess I missed the fun, huh?"

"Just the same stuff as usual." Carlos shrugged and showed up a half-bitten green apple excitedly, "but we have some fresh goods now!"

"Heads up!" I instantly raised my hand and caught a metallic object from Jay.

It was a ... pot? A pure gold pot! It was shaped like a regular pot but on the edge of it had some interesting intricate designs (or writings?) that I'd never seen before. But why is there a funny smell though? "How'd you even get this, Jay? This is literally pure gold! Gold! It's a miracle no one took it yet."

"Well, uh," Jay hesitated and cleared his throat, "It was from a garbage can."

My smile dropped and without hesitation, I threw the pot toward Jay with all of the strength that I could muster. I scanned the market center for a place to wash my hands and I immediately dashed toward the nearest laundry store. Not caring if the laundry man was washing his clothes, I shoved him away from his chair and used a lot of soap and water to wash my hands until there was no odd odor left on either of my hands.

I sent a glare to the laundry man who was spitting curses at me and poured the soapy water towards his dried clothes. I ignored his angry yelling and walked towards the center of the market, where we had a new visitor.

"Ah, Nevaeh!" The horned fairy, Maleficent exclaimed dramatically when she saw me arriving, "Lovely to see you."

I plastered a false smile and said, "Wish I could say the same to you, ma'am."

"Still snarky like your mother, I see," Maleficent rolled her eyes and snapped her fingers at Mal, possibly talking about how Maleficent managed to curse an entire kingdom when she was Mal's age and world domination or something like that.
