The three of us arrived at Jay and Carlos' room right before the curfew bells rang. I silently closed the door and let out a breath of relief. I turned around and saw girls having a brief tour of the boys' room before taking a seat. As for the boys, Jay was taking out stuff from his clothes while Carlos was deeply immersed in his game.
I went to Jay's side and placed my arm on his shoulders lazily, "What did you snatch, cuz?"
"Uh," He paused for a moment before naming each item he held up, "I got a miniature computer - or laptop, as the Auradon kids say, a really expensive watch, fancy cologne, and a pair of dorky glasses." Then, he placed the glasses onto the bridge of his nose.
I observed the glasses on Jay's face and asked, "Wait, isn't that Doug's glasses?"
"Bingo!" Jay winked before taking off the glasses and giving them to me, "The guy's too focused on his calculations that he didn't even notice."
I took the glasses from Jay and slipped them into my jacket's pocket. Without knowing what gave me away, Jay suddenly asked, "Did something happen?"
My brow shot up to my forehead at his question, "What? No. I mean, why did you ask?"
"Die, suckers!" Carlos cried out triumphantly, "Jay, come check this out. Man, it's awesome." The white-haired boy turned around before handing Jay two sticks. When he noticed Jay's focus was not on him, he asked, "What's going on?"
I shook my head to the young boy, "Nothing important-"
"Please, Vae." Jay rolled his eyes and crossed both of his arms together, "We've known each other since we were an infant. Your little act won't work on me. Come on, you could tell me."
I glared at him before groaning in annoyance, "Damn, I hate you." Then I motioned them to the table - where Mal and Evie were seated - and sat down, "So, I met a prince this afternoon."
"Did he act like a creep like the ones on fairytales?" Jay asked, cracking his fists.
"What? No!" I exclaimed incredulously before sighing, "Long story short, the prince, Brayden - Ben's twin - saw me using a spell that could contact my mother from the Isle - in case, you've forgotten, the Isle can't use any magic - and he interrogated me about it then noticed my facade, and confront me about it."
I saw Carlos furrowed his brows as he asked, "But, isn't your acting inconspicuous? I mean, there's almost no one that notices it, right?"
"Exactly!" I grumbled and placed my face onto both of my hands, "That's what bothers me."
"Because the Brayden guy was clever enough to notice your pretense and you're worried he might ruin our plans on getting the wand?" Jay said in an uncertain tone.
I looked up to him with an impressed look and held out a thumbs up to him, "Thank you for being smart once in a while, Jay. Guess I'm rubbing off you."
"Shut up."
"Anyways," I cleared my throat before lowering down my smile, "we should come up with a plan. ASAP."
Mal carelessly waved a finger and said, "The only plan I could think of right now is to use Evie's mirror to locate the wand and we'll go to the said location, snatch the wand, and bye-bye Auradon. And if we fail, well," She shrugged, "Guess we'll have to live here for a while and come up with plan B."
I nodded before snapping my fingers to Evie, "Evie, do your magic."
We gathered around and focused our attention on the magic mirror, "Mirror, mirror on the- in my hand," Evie corrected herself, "Where is the Fairy Godmother's wand, stand?" Then the mirror showed us the wand, shining with all its glory and filled with power.
"There it is!" Mal exclaimed.
"Zoom out," Carlos suggested to the blue-haired girl.
Evie put the mirror closer to her lips and whispered, "Magic mirror, not so close." Soon, the mirror showed us the Earth.
I rolled my eyes and waited for the mirror to zoom closer. Not long after, the mirror showed us a sign after Evie told it to keep zooming in. Mal asked Carlos to locate the museum and the latter clicked onto the laptop before turning it around to show us, "It's 2.3 miles from here."

I closed my eyes, crossing both of my thumbs and index fingers and feeling the energy slowly channeling inside me. When the energy was fully gathered, I felt my eyes open by themselves and I saw everything in my surroundings was purple. I also discovered that my line of sight was not inside of the room, instead, it was outside of it.
I quickly checked around to see if there were guards or teachers - which, from what I heard sometimes surveyed the dorm to catch students going out at curfew. When I saw the coast was clear, I closed my eyes again and my surroundings returned to normal after I reopened my eyes.
I saw the four staring at me in concern and they all sighed in relief when they saw me looking at them with my brows raised, "Geez, why so tense?"
"Vae, please," Mal rolled her eyes, "your eyes were glowing purple. It's not me and my Mom type of glowing, but it's the glowing-neon-with-no-pupils-showing kind of glow."
"And you felt like an entirely different person," Carlos added, a worried look still plastered on his face, "It's ... scary."
I let out a small chuckle and shook my head, "Oh, come on. It was a small spying spell, nothing big or dangerous. The glowing eyes must be the side effect of using my magic."
The four of them, especially Jay, still looked at me skeptically and worriedly. I sighed and stood up before patting the closest people - which were Jay and Mal - shoulders, "Guys, I'm really fine. I'm serious."
They continued to stare at me with a pointed look and I groaned while nodding reluctantly, "Fine, fine. I'll lessen the use of my powers unless it's absolutely needed, okay?"
Jay broke into a grin before patting my arms hard, "That's what I like to hear."
I winced and slap my hands onto his head with the same strength as he gave me. Then, I turned towards the door and opened it, motioning the others to get out of the room, "Well, we don't really expect the wand to come to us by itself now, do we? Let's go!"
