"This is how the royal church roughly looks like." I conjured an illusion and zoomed in on the wand, "The magic wand will be placed right here."

"And I'll be in the very front. With you, right, Vae?" Mal spun her head and asked me.

I shook my head no and crossed my arms, "I'll be standing right above the balcony with the others. Jay and I will be backups, just in case we failed. Him with his muscles and me with my powers."

"Okay." Mal nodded and turned to the white-haired boy, "Carlos?"

"So, I'll find the limo and the remote that created the bridge and we'll get back on the island with the wand," Carlos said while placing Dude on the floor.

"Perfect. Evie, here." Mal took a bottle from her bag and gave it to Evie, "You will be using this to take out the driver. Two sprays and he'll be out like a light."

Evie nodded and suddenly, an unsettling silence surrounded us. I sighed and looked at Vasper, who was cozily lying on my shoulder in a smaller form. I walked toward Jay and he didn't even notice I was approaching as he kept staring at his jersey in deep thought, "Hey, cos? Jay, you okay?"

Jay glanced up and nodded, "Yeah. Just ... a bit nervous, you know."

"Everything will be fine." I gave him a hug and smiled, "I'm sure of it. By the way, where's the thing you've stolen from Brayden."

Jay reached for his leather jacket and zipped open its pocket before handing me a silver pin, "I was just planning to trade this with money today. What do you need it for?"

"Giving back to its owner," I replied and I felt Vasper's vision targeting the accessory, "'Leave it like you found it', remember?"

Jay chuckled at the memory, "Sure, whatever."

"You wanna break Ben's love spell?" Evie's baffled voice sounded from the front.

"Yeah, I mean, for after." Mal answered unsurely, "I've been thinking about what Vae said. After the villains do invade Auradon and began to loot and kick everyone out of their castles and imprison their leaders. But Ben still being in love with me just seems a little extra ... cruel."

The tense atmosphere was dispersed by the sudden knocking on the door. Vasper swiftly returned back into his bracelet form and I went in front to get the door. The door opened and revealed a smiling Brayden, "Hey."

"Hey," I replied with a smile, "what you doin' here, your highness?"

"Inviting you out on a stroll, perhaps? Today's a full moon." He explained and waited for my response.

I glanced back at the others and they gave me a nod and wave. Evie took a few steps forward and pushed me out of the room with a smile, "She's all yours."

Before I could say anything to them, the door was shut right in front of my face, "My nose was inches away from being broken. Thanks, E."

"Let's go then?" Brayden held out his arm for me and said.

"Oh, but before that," I took the pin out of my pocket and gave it to him, "I think this is yours."

He gasped in delight, "My broche! Where did you find it?"

"Jay, uh, found it and gave it to me." I smiled tensely at the joyous male.

"Tell him I said thank you. This means a lot to me. Could you put it on for me?" He requested with his eyes staring at mine pleadingly.

I looked away from his eyes before attaching the pin to his blazer. A soft, warm yellow glow appeared from the pin and it was gone as quickly as it appeared. I brushed the thought away and smoothed out his blazer, "There. All done. Let's go."
