"Are we there yet?"
"Almost ... there." After he finished his sentence, I felt the scarf slowly slip down my face and I blinked multiple times to adjust to the light. "Ta-da!" Brayden exclaimed and I followed the direction he pointed and surprise took over me.
It was a garden with mazes made from luscious green bushes and roses with colors ranging from white to red decorating next to them. In the middle of the garden was a gazebo that had hundreds of pink roses growing above its roof. The view was breathtaking and I was blown away by it.
"Come on." Brayden took my hand and led me through the maze and to the gazebo. There was a table filled with different sorts of pastries and cakes and there was a porcelain teapot on the table. A bouquet of ruby red roses was placed neatly on top of a chair and next to it was a black box with a perfectly tied golden bow.
I looked questioningly at him, "What's all this?"
Brayden pulled the chair out for me and motioned me to sit down before going to his seat, "Take this as a small tea party with just the two of us, okay? I know, I know," He chuckled as he took the roses from the chair and held them up while getting down on one knee, "You don't like me and you made that very clear. But ... Miss Nevaeh from the Isle of the Lost and the precious daughter of Nasira, can I ask for your permission in my proposal of pursuing you?"
Dumbfounded. Shocked. Disbelief. That was what I was feeling at the moment. My mouth was agape and my usual eloquence seemed to be of no use at this moment. I began to stammer, something my mother taught me not to do. But this was not normal at all. My brain was not functioning properly and without fully processing what happened, a trembling "Yes" left my lips.
Brayden's eyes lightened up and he put away the roses before pulling me into his chest. "Thank you. I'll do whatever it takes to win your heart." He suddenly broke the hug and handed me a box, "Oh, and here."
I took the box from him and he encouraged me to open it. I carefully untied the bow and opened the box; revealing a completely brand new and sleek phone that looked way better than the ones I'd seen from the other students. I glanced up and stared at the grinning prince in disbelief, "What's this?"
"A phone. The newest model and you're the first to have it. The parents of the kids from the Isle, including yours too obviously, have also been given a phone each. We'll have the signals and wifis built so you guys could call your parents." He explained and returned back to his seat, "I also got your friends each a phone and I totally should've done that right after you guys arrived. Lumiere should send it by this evening."
"I ... Oh, wow. Thank you. Thank you so much." It was the only thing I could think of to say.
"It's fine, no need to say thank you." He brushed it off with a chuckle, "In fact, I finally get to execute my proposition on giving the people of the Isle their tech, thanks to you guys and Benny's approval, too. And also," He pulled out a thin, black-colored card from his pocket and handed it to me, "I don't know how you define 'a lot of money' but there are ten million dollars in that card. I'll teach you how to use it later, don't worry- Vae? Hey, you okay?"
"Ten ... ten million dollars," I mumbled, my posture stiff and completely stunned by his casualness in saying the vast amount of money. I blinked and broke out of my trance, "Please don't tell me you prepared a sword and a horse too."
Brayden rubbed his head sheepishly, "Well that ... your sword's gonna be finished in next week since I just ordered it yesterday. And you don't your own land or property here, you can't own a horse yet. But I could bring you to my horse stable whenever you want and teach you horse riding. About FG's wand though ..." He looked apologetically at me, "I'm really sorry but I can't give you that. It's one of Auradon's sacred items and it's the only request I can't fulfill."
