After thirty minutes of walking from the dorm building, the five of us arrived at the Museum of Cultural History. Unsurprisingly, the entrance to the museum was locked and there was a man guarding it. Thankfully, the man was back-facing us as he was looking through several monitors that showed magical artifacts, such as King Triton's Trident, Beast's Magical Rose, Aladdin's Magic Lamp, and so on. But, there's something that caught my eye. Maleficent's Spinning Wheel.  Then again, not everyone had the same taste as mine.

"That's your mother's spinning wheel?" My cousin dearest, Jay snickered.

Carlos laughed, "Yeah, it's kinda dorky."

"Carlos!" I exclaimed, staring at the boy in disapproval. Carlos smiled sheepishly while muttering a soft apology.

"It's ... magic. It doesn't have to look scary." Mal defended and she flipped open her spellbook before reciting, "Magic spindle, do not linger. Make my victim prick a finger."

Then the guard only whirled his chair around and stared at the spinning wheel blankly. Without even a second passed, Jay and Carlos being themselves, felt the need to say something sarcastic. I rolled my eyes and slap the back of their heads.

"Okay. You know what?" Mal groaned as she flipped to the next page of the book, "Prick the finger, prick it deep. Send my enemy off to sleep."

And it seemed like the spell was not supposed to be recited separately as a wisp of green smoke seeped through the locked doors and covered the spinning wheel in whole. The spinning wheel shone in an eerie way and the guard walked slowly toward the magic wheel as if he were entranced. He woodenly raised a finger and the needle glowed chillingly, then unbeknownst to us, the guard was already sound asleep beside the spinning wheel.

Mal grinned haughtily, "Not so dorky now, huh?" But apparently, Mal didn't notice the fact that the door's locked.

Jay, being the show-off he was, cracked his fingers and ordered, "Stand back."

Of course, me being his favorite cousin had to do something to back him up. So, I muttered a spell and aimed at the door handle before giving it a small push. The door was unlocked and by the time Jay was sprinting towards the door, I let out a small blow resulting in the door opening and Jay fell straight up to his butt.

The four of us laughed at Jay's failure at kicking open the door and I laughed the loudest, for sure. I giggled one last time before going to Jay's side and extending a hand to him,  "Come on, get up."

Jay groaned grumpily and took my hand while I pulled him up. He caught his balance before rubbing his behind and said, "You plus magic is even more annoying, you know that right?"

"Obviously." I grinned proudly and turned towards the bluenette, "Now, Evie. Where's our next stop?"

☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐

"How many stairs do we have to climb again?" I complained, placing both of my hands on my hips, "God, I hate stairs."

Mal patted my shoulders and motioned in an upward direction, "Come on, Evie says we're almost there."

I groaned again before following the others to another set of stairs. Finally stopping at the last step of the stairs, we took a turn to the left and arrived at a display named 'Gallery of Villains'. To say the five of us were shocked was an understatement because in front of us were the realistic statues of our parents in all of their previous glory.

I was amazed to see my mother in her signature burgundy dress and her cobra hood. A gleaming gold ring surrounded her dark brown irises as she sat on a throne with an intimidating gaze. It's definitely one hundred percent way scarier to see it in real life than to just listen to Uncle J described my mother in her evil era.

"Well, the wand's not here. Let's bounce." Jay announced, snapping all of us out of a trance.

We left the Gallery of Villains one by one and Evie continued guiding us to find the wand. After one more turn, we finally arrived at the place where the wand was heavily secured.  Jay whooped in delight and made his way downstairs to reach the wand. Hang on a sec. "We have to climb the stairs again?!"

☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐

After a lot of complaining and whining, I arrived downstairs - later than the others, obviously. Jay, who was looking a little too excited, went over the circular fence without having to think beforehand.

"Jay, don't!" Mal shouted hurriedly.

"Jay, I am begging you to stop and think with your brain for this moment because there is a freaking glowing barrier surrounding the wand, can you not see it?" I exclaimed exasperatedly.

Jay smirked and shrugged, "Well, we'll see when I get the wand." Then he proceeded to reach for the wand. Instead of getting the wand, the thing that Jay got was getting bounced back by the blue barrier and the blaring noise of the emergency siren.

"A force field and a siren?" Carlos questioned incredulously.

I went to help Jay up and that idiot commented, "That's just a little excessive."

"Oh, shut up, will you?" I slapped his shoulder before instructing, "Come on, we gotta leave here before anyone finds us."

The five of us ran down and we almost got caught by the supposedly asleep guard. When we arrived at the room where the guard was supposed to be, a ring was heard. Carlos went over to take care of it and we continued to run until we were outside of the museum.

"Way to go, Jay. Now we got school tomorrow." Mal remarked and we made our way back to our dorm.

And meeting new people. Fun.

Author's Note/Apology Section:

Hey, folks! I'm back after half a year? Or is it already a year? I am really, really sorry for the delayed updates and the broken promise of updating on certain days. In my defense, being a 12th grader is like getting trained in hell mode. So, I don't really have time for updating. But anyways, enjoy and tell me your opinions. (imo, since I haven't written in ages so this chapter kinda flops and forgive my grammar) Have a nice day, yall and take care!

Love,

Del.
