So far today has been pretty plain, I finished up my work early so I could spend some more time with Billie. We went to the store to get some stuff for the bathroom, new tooth brushes, tissue, things like that. After we got back she hasn't been very interested in my attention, for the past hour she has been sitting on the floor coloring in her new coloring book she picked out at the store.
My phone hums in my pocket, Ava's calling.
"Hey Ava how are you?" I smile.
"I'm good, how are you and my munchkin?"
"We've been good, she hasn't been paying me any mind today though" I sigh.
"I'm sure she's just preoccupied, what are your plans for the day?" She hums.
"Nothing really, why?"
"Well if you're up for it I'd like for you and Billie to come with me to the zoo, it's a beautiful day and I'm sure she'd love it!"
"Let me ask her" moving the phone from my ear I turn to the smaller girl.
"Billie?"
"Not now mama I color" she giggles.
"Okay then I guess I will tell Ava you don't wanna go to the zoo with her" I shrug nonchalantly.
"Zoo?!" She says around her pacifier, looking at me with wide eyes, "I wan oo' mama!!"
"Okay" I chuckle, "did you hear that Ava?"
"Yes her cute little squeal told me everything I need to know. I can come pick you up in 30 minutes, is that okay?"
"Of course, see you then" she says before hanging up.
"Come Bil, I gotta get you dressed and fix your hair" picking her up from off the floor, I take her into the bedroom.
"Okay what color do you want to wear today pretty girl?" I coo looking through the closet.
"Mmm b'ue!" She claps her little hands.
Shaking my head jokingly at my silly girl, I pick out a short overalls and a baby blue t-shirt with a bear on the front of it.
"Okay arms up baby" she does as she is told and I pull off her shirt replacing it with the blue shirt. "Now before I put these on can I ask you something?"
She peers up at me waiting for me to ask my question, "since we don't know how long we'll be out would you feel comfortable wearing a diaper, darling?"
Billie's cheeks turn a light shade of pink, "but I not baby" she pouts.
"No no it doesn't mean your a baby, it's just in case you have to go but we aren't close to any bathrooms. We don't want you to have an accident outside, do we?"
"No mommy" she mumbles.
I kiss her forehead, "hey i'm not forcing you okay? You can tell me if you want to wear one or not. It's totally up to you baby."
"I no baby if I wear it?" She asks pulling her paci out of her mouth.
"Nope I promise" giving her a reassuring smile.
"Otay" she sighs.
"Okay can you lay back for me so I can put it on?"
She lays back and covers her eyes with her hands, "aw are you my shy baby now?"
She just giggles nervously, I quickly put it on her and put on her overalls right after.
"I'm gonna get dressed quickly then I'll do your hair okay?"
She nods and slides off the bed waddling into the living room. I throw on a over big black t-shirt with a gargoyle on the front of it, light washed baggy ripped jeans and some black docs. Accessorizing a little, I put on a short pearl necklace layering it with two other longer silver necklaces and some silver rings on my thumbs, index and middle fingers.
"Come to the bathroom with me baby so I can fix your hair" she gets up quickly following me to the bathroom.
Pulling out a brush and some hair ties and bows I set her on the counter and carefully brush through her hair.
"What kind of style do you want to today, darling?" I ask running my fingers through her long silky hair.
"'Pace buns!" She shouts a little too loud.
"Okay, inside voices okay baby?" I say calmly and nicely so she knows she isn't in trouble.
"Sowwy" she whispers.
"It's okay sweet girl" I gently brush though her hair and give her two messy but very adorable buns, allowing loose strands to frame her face.
"All done, you are so pretty baby!" I gushed.
Billie blushes, giggling as we leave the bathroom.
"Okay shoes Bil and then we can have a quick snack before Ava gets here."
Near the door are our shoes, Billie plops down on her bottom to slip them on. I tie them for her before putting on my own shoes. Billie wanders over to the couch to watch a cartoon while I make us both sandwiches.
Billie happily accepts her sandwich, I let my sandwich set for a moment so I can put everything she might need her green backpack. Once that's one I join her on the couch and eat while we wait for Ava.
