Eve slowly woke and groaned as her body ached. She pushed her hair out of her face then frowned in confusion when her hair got stuck on something. She gently pulled her fingers out of her hair and gasped when she spotted the ring back on her finger. She beamed as she looked at it.
"Like your present, Darling?"
She looked over at the door and nodded seeing Owen standing there. "I love it, thank you."
"Did you sleep well?"
"Surprisingly yes," She admitted as she played with the comforter. "I thought I would be haunted with nightmares from what happened."
"That pill Dr. Green gave you was a strong dose," he admitted. "That is probably why."
"I dread the day I no longer need them," She whispered. "I just want to forget I ever met him and everything he did to me."
"I'm sorry, we can't do that," He shook his head as he sat at the end of the bed. "But we can help you while you heal."
"Thank you," She nodded softly.
"Now, while you are taking a shower, Blade will be come in here and lay out some comfortable clothes for you then we'll have breakfast and spend the rest of the day relaxing."
She shook her head, "I can't. It sounds wonderful, it really does but I need to stay busy. If I just lounge around my mind will start to wonder and I just can't—"
"I understand," He nodded and blanket covered knee. "How about you spend the day with us at the bar then? You can help us out to keep you busy and still be with us."
Her eyes lit up, "That sounds wonderful."
"Good," He gave her that millimeter smile she hardly ever saw and stood. "See you downstairs, Darling."
"Hey Angelos Mou," Silas smiled when he noticed her standing at the top of the stairs.
"Um..." She said softly as she twirled the shirt they gave her last night around her fingers nervously.
"Need help down the stairs?" He asked and she nodded. He smirked and headed up the stairs. "Quit worrying," he whispered when he saw she was biting her lip nervously. "Blade won't care one bit that you are still wearing that shirt. We like it on you."
"Okay," She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck.
He picked her up and slowly carried her down the stairs. "Where would you like to sit, Angelos Mou?"
"Anywhere is fine with me," She said and he nodded.
After breakfast they headed over to bar. She got out of the car and tensed when she noticed her flower shop. "Everything okay, Princess?" Victor asked and she just continued to stare. "Do you want to go over there later?"
"Maybe," She shrugged, "I don't know. I want my shop back but at the same time..."
"The last memory you have of it isn't good and you don't know if you can ever get past that?" Axel asked.
"How you do always know what I'm thinking, Fang?" She asked, "Some Native American trait or something?"
"No," He chuckled. "Just made the most sense for you right now."
"Come on, Princess," Victor sighed, "Let's get the bar open, customers will be here soon."
"Will you teach me how to make drinks?" She asked and Marc chuckled.
"You want to be a bartender for us?" He asked as Owen unlocked the door and flipped on the lights.
"It would be fun to learn," She shrugged.
"Think of all the tips we would get having a sexy flower girl at our bar," Luke chuckled.
"Not sexy," She shook her head as she pulled her hair up into a ponytail.
"Fine cute," North shrugged as he took a drink from his water bottle.
"No," She shook her head.
"Adorable?" Victor suggested and she shook her head.
"Pretty?" Nathan called out and she huffed in annoyance.
"Enough," Owen declared. "Darling, you are all of those and more and one day you will believe that again. But we will stop with the compliments for now."
"Thank you," She mumbled as she toyed with the bottom of the shirt.
"Come on Eve," Marc said as he came up beside her and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "You really have nothing to worry about. Most of our customers just want beer or straight liquor. But I'll be here if you need some help."
The morning was busy which kept her occupied. "Ready for some lunch, Baby?" North called from the back when it slowed down.
"Sure," She shrugged as she wiped down the bar and he came over to her. "That sounds good, but I don't know what I want. I don't' want my usual but I don't know what."
"That's fine," North nodded, "I'll make you a surprise."
