"How's our girl doing?" Marc asked as he walked into the flower shop the following evening.
Eve turned to face him, her eyes lighting up as she watched him walked towards her, "I'm good. How are all of you?" While she had to admit she liked having this space and time away from them so she could focus on her work, she was also glad to see him. She was starting to miss them, and it was like they knew she needed to see one of them. It was crazy to think how much she needed them in her life now, she knew they were moving kind of fast and a part of her knew she depended on them, but they didn't seem to mind so she wasn't going to think about it too much. They told her they wanted her to need them just as much as she needed them to want her so that was what she was going to do. She guessed it had to something to do with them being Doms. They have told her repeatedly that a Dom wants to feel needed and a Sub needs to feel wanted. As long as she kept feeling this happy she was fine with how things were going with them.
"We are good," he smirked before leaning down and gently kissing her. "Brought you something to snack on until you close up and join us."
"I have to eat alone?" She pouted and he chuckled. "Grumpy going to come make sure I actually snack since I was too busy to eat lunch earlier?"
Marc burst out laughing, "No Beautiful, he's cooking tonight so he can't and no you won't snack alone. I'm joining you since it slowed down at bit, but I can't stay long."
She chuckled and pushed her dirty blonde hair over her shoulder. "If you need to get back, I'll be okay like I have been. I promise to eat, Daddy."
Marc let out a low groan, "Oh Little Girl," and gripped her hips, making her let out a soft gasp. Just then the door opened, and she stepped out of his grasp with a smirk on her lips. He sighed and watched as she interacted with the customer as if nothing just happened moments ago. He got a text that he was needed so he squeezed her hip then walked out of the store.
Once the lady finished getting lilies and orchids for her grandmother, Eve opened the container to see what Marc brought her. Smiling at seeing the chicken wrap, she took a couple of bites then took a picture of her taking a bite and sent it to the group message on her phone thanking them for the snack. She quickly ate then pulled up the order page to see if she got any new online orders when she heard the door open.
Smiling to greet the new customer, she dropped her smile when she saw the sheriff walk in with a grim look on his face. "Sheriff, how can I help you?"
"Where are the boys, Eve?" he asked.
"Next door," she answered honestly. "Why?"
"We need to talk," he sighed, "let's go next door."
"Okay," she frowned, "just let me reply to this customer then I'll lock up." She opened up the phone link app on her computer and opened the group message Sheriff walked in, says we need to talk so about to close up shop and head over there. She closed the app and shut down the computer. "Alright Sheriff," she cleared her throat and shut down her register before grabbing her bag to leave.
She locked up the shop then headed over to the bar, her stomach turning as her thoughts began to race not liking the silence between her and the sheriff. She walked into the bar and forced herself not to run into Owen's arms, seeing him leaning against the bar where Axel was currently handing a customer a drink. A quick look around had her spotting the rest of the group and relief swept through her.
"How can we help you, Sheriff?" Owen asked pushing up from the counter and took two steps toward them. "Would you like a drink or something to eat?"
"Not today, Prez," he shook his head. "I need to inform you of something, and I knew you would like to hear it as a group."
"And you had to involve Eve, why?" Owen asked glaring at him.
"I'd rather not say while you still have customers," the sheriff said looking around. "Please, it will upset you and I know you don't want to cause a scene."
"Tell me," Eve frowned, "what's going on?"
"Can we just—"
"Tell me," Eve whispered loudly cutting off the sheriff.
"Your house was broken into," the sheriff sighed, "all your belongings were destroyed."
"How come we weren't notified by the security system?" Corey asked trying to remain calm.
"The system was apparently cut," the sheriff explained. "We were only notified after someone was driving home and saw two people coming out of her house with electronics."
"Fuck," North growled.
"It gets worse," The sheriff sighed.
"How?" she asked leaning back into North's grasp once she felt his hands on her hips. She knew it was partially to reassure her but also to keep him calm.
"There is writing on her walls," he admitted. "A message to the Nyx Knights."
