"Baby?" North called out as he entered the garden at the back of the flower shop a couple of evenings later. "You out here?"
"Yeah, North Star," she said meekly. He frowned when he saw her quickly wipe her face. He hurried over to her and she hugged him.
"North Star?" He asked and she giggled softly. "I figured you were coming over to look at the stars with me again," she spoke softly.
"Oh," he chuckled, "I like it." He kissed the top of her head then frowned when he heard her sniffle. "Everything okay, Baby? What's wrong? Talk to me."
"It's nothing," she shook her head, "don't worry about it."
"No," he shook his head and took a step back, "come here." He sat down on the grass and pulled her into his lap. "Talk to me, what's upsetting you? Let me help you."
She played with his necklace and sighed softly. "The other night Raven said something..." she whispered so softly he almost didn't hear her.
"And now you don't like what he said?" He asked gently. "Or you are thinking it's wrong for you to like what he said? Something derogatory?" She nodded and he kissed her hair gently. "It sounds like you are dropping, Baby."
"But it's been days," she frowned as she ran a finger over his tattoo on his arm.
"Drops can happen moments after, hours after, and even days after," North explained. "I'm sorry you are now second guessing his love for you. I can promise he worships you, but I know at times like this your little fairy brain will try to tell you otherwise. If he wasn't on that run, I would take you to him so he can reassure you himself." He kissed her head again, "I can tell you that if you don't want him to call you that again it won't upset him one bit. Gabe, Lucian, and Victor don't like to be called derogatory names so it's not a problem at all, I promise Baby."
"I don't know," she whispered as she sniffled. "I don't like this."
"I'm sorry, Baby," he whispered as he tightened his hold on her. "What if we call him? Do you think that will help you a little bit?"
She nodded and he pulled his phone out of his cut then hit a few buttons, "Hey sorry Little Brother, Gunner can't come to the phone right now," Luke's voice came through the speaker.
"Why not?" North asked confused.
"Well, he's currently beating the shit out of some idiot," Luke chuckled.
"Why?" North asked as he moved his thumb up and down on Eve's thigh soothingly.
"Well, the idiot called our little fairy a slut and you know how protective he is over his Kitten. He started mumbling in Russian and all I can make out is his Kitten in between the pummels. Fang and Coffee are just watching while Blade is recording."
"Put me on speaker, Always," Eve said sitting up. "Please."
"Got it, Cupcake," Luke said then smirked, "you're on."
"Bear," She said sniffling.
"Kitten," his deep voice called out in the distant.
She knew he immediately stopped what he was doing and she smiled at that thought. "Don't kill him, Bear," she sniffled.
"Какая? Kakaya? (What?)" he asked and she smiled softly.
"If you kill him, he won't suffer," she pointed out. North chuckled and shook his head, "Now if you splice his tongue and break his jaw in multiple places, then it will have to be wired shut and he will have to drink all his meals through a straw for months."
"Da," he growled as his voice got closer to the phone. "Kitten, okay?"
She sniffled again, "Bear?"
"Da Kitten?" he asked taking the phone from Luke.
"Thank you..." she said softly leaning into North's hold even more.
"Da?" he asked not really sure what she was thanking him for.
She cleared her throat, "Come home Bear," she sniffled, "Please?"
"I on way, Kitten."
He hung up the call and North kissed her head, "Come on Baby, let's lock up the shop and let everyone know then I'll take you home."
"Thank you, North," she whispered hugging him tightly.
"Of course, Baby."
He took her back to the mansion and started her a bubble bath. As she was relaxing Raven showed up. "Why Kitten cry?" he asked North as he tossed his keys down on the table.
"She's dropping," North explained, "She's questioning about whatever you called her in the bedroom."
"Fuck," Raven growled.
"Don't worry about it," North shook his head, "I explained what was going on and that it was okay if she doesn't want you to say it again. But I think it helped a lot hearing you defend her. She relaxed a lot hearing what you did then talking to you."
"Good," Raven sighed, "Where?"
"In the bath."
"Bear."
He walked over to the steps and smiled seeing his precious love smiling down at him. He rushed up the stairs and picked her up, hugging her tightly, "Kitten."
