Chapter 42

"Yes," he admitted, "but it's nothing we can't handle."

"Hey," the rest of the guys said as they came in.

"What's going on, Doc?" North asked as he pulled Eve into his lap and wrapped his arms around her stomach then kissed her shoulder.

"Here are your results, Wife," Sean said handing her a piece of paper.

"I'm pregnant?" she asked shocked and scared.

"You are," Sean beamed.

"I'm pregnant," she repeated as the men passed the paper around then kissed her happily. "Sean, I'm 35," she said nervously, "aren't I a little...late to be pregnant? We've tried for 12 years and it never happened before. Those 3 miscarriages..."

"Hey now," Sean smiled gently, "we are going to be careful and since we found out early I'm going to be making some changes. I'm going to be strict and while you may not like it, it's for your own good."

"I'll do whatever," she sniffled, "I don't want to lose another."

"We will all do whatever we can to help make sure it doesn't happen," North said against her back while rubbing his thumb up and down on her stomach.

"Don't take this the wrong way, Sean but I want a different doctor," she said softly. "I want you to be a daddy not a doctor."

"I understand," he smiled. "I'll find the right one for you."

It took a while for her to get used to all the changes the men made but she had to admit she liked all the extra rest she was getting. It was time for her 12 week appointment and she was nervous because the doctor was running some sort of test.

What's up, Pookie? Is she back yet? I'll be right there, I'm almost done running this quick errand.

She's running extra tests after looking at the ultrasound screen, should I be worried?

I'm on my way, it's probably nothing but I'll be there in just a second I just have to drop off this file.

Eve sighed in relief as Sean walked through the door a couple of minutes later. "Hi Wife," he smiled as he kissed her cheek.

"Oh, Dr. Green, glad you can join us," the female doctor smiled as she came back into the room. "Would you like to call the rest of your husbands and put it on a video call?"

"Please," Eve nodded, and Sean pulled out his phone.

"Hey Flower Fairy," everyone smiled, "How is the appointment?"

"I noticed something on the ultrasound, so I decided to run some additional tests," the doctor said calmly. "I don't think it will matter to you but you still should know."

"Is there a problem?" Sean asked for everyone.

"Just tell us," Eve said squeezing Sean's hand.

"Your twins will have Down Syndrome," she said matter of fact.

"We're having twins?" Gabe asked excitedly. "Fuck yes!"

"I'm sorry I thought you knew already."

"I had my suspicions," Eve smiled, "do you know the genders?"

"A boy and a girl."

"Fuck yes!" Gabe smiled.

"Both of them will have Down Syndrome?" Eve asked.

"Yes," the doctor said handing Sean the paper.

"Ok, thank you for letting us know," Eve smiled. "Will I have to make any more restrictions?"

"No," She smiled, "you are doing great."

"Come on, Wife, let's get you home," Sean smiled as he kissed her temple.

Sean noticed in the car ride home that she was silent. Once they got to the house everyone hugged her and kissed her stomach. "You're already researching, aren't you?" She asked looking at Kota.

"Yes," he admitted.

"Are you scared?" she asked looking at the group.

"No," they said in unison.

"They are perfect, we just need to make sure the house is safe for them," Axel said handing her a cup of ice water with her favorite straw. "We can make any changes now if we need to."

"I'm scared," she admitted. "People can be mean, they will treated differently and...and..."

"Hey now," Silas said putting her legs in his lap. "People can be mean no matter what and our babies will be surrounded by nothing but love and acceptance. They will still have friends and learn everything they need to know. I understand your worry, but they will be safe and loved, we promise."

She leaned into North's hold and smiled, "Thank you."

The months went by and before she knew it she was waking up in sharp pain, "Yevgeny," she gasped as she clutched the hand on her stomach.

"Kitten," he mumbled slowly waking up.

"Get Doc," she moaned in pain.

"Corey," Raven moving Corey's hand off her stomach. "Get Doc, guys," he said helping her sit up.

"Yevgeny," she moaned into his chest. "Uh oh," she whimpered as she felt a gush, "I'm sorry," she burst into tears.

"Nyet cry, Kitten," he said into her hair as he held her. "It fine, promise, Kitten. Time baby kittens join our family."

"It hurts," she sobbed. "It hurts."

"I know Pookie but the water tub is being set up," Sean said, "it will help if you are still hurting. I know you want to have a home birth."

"They are being born at home," she mumbled before digging her nails into Raven's arms. "Ow..."

The men took turns holding her in the tub and after twelve hours Ren Erebus was born then a minute later his sister Rose Nyx was born.

"They are perfect," She whispered as she held both of them and tears slipped down her face. "They are beautiful little miracles."

"Yes they are," the men said kissing their wife. "We love you."

She kissed their children and smiled, "Our perfect little family."

Time flew by and before she knew it, they were celebrating their children's fifth birthday. Eve leaned against the porch railing and smiled softly as she watched Luke and Nathan attach the tire swing while Owen and Silas watched on closely. Ren was playing with the puppies Raven's family insisted on sending over. Gabe, North, and Raven were letting Rose put make up on them while the rest were doing other things, like Victor playing the piano and Marc was taking the candles out of the cakes.

"You okay?" Erica asked as she stood beside her and watched.

"Yeah," Eve smiled. "It's cute seeing them like this, so...so...domesticated."

"It's all because of you," Erica smiled. "You and this family."

"It's because of true love," Eve smiled, "Love that was sealed with a kiss."
