Skylar used her bare pointer finger to wipe off the drop and examine it.
Her gaze flicked to her side as another one fell next to her.
She had stayed for too long.
She needed to leave before the soft drizzle turned into a thunderstorm.
Skylar ran eastward as the drops became more and more frequent, gradually pattering harder against the pavement. She had to get home as quick as possible. Her storms started slow but escalated rapidly and she was not about to expose these kids to the full potential of her powers.
Skylar, suddenly remembering she had a way to travel much faster that just running, zipped into the light grey clouds above and continued her way across the Atlantic.
What Skylar had failed to notice though, in her haste, was the white haired boy who followed her, intrigued by the girl who traveled at the speed of light.

Skylar landed harshly beside her windmill. Angrily fumbling around it, she walked around the windmill before coming upon her front door.
Looking down at the handle, she saw her rusting lock nowhere to be found and the door cracked open. Skylar looked at the predicament in shock, no one visited the vast field due to the extremely common, rampant storms that plauged the land. The lock only had one key and she could still feel it weighing down her pocket, which meant it had been picked. A crashing noise sounded from what she assumed was her bucket of scrap metal and failed projects getting knocked over.
Someone had broken into her house.
And they were still there.
And all of her weapons were still hanging on the wall of her bedroom.
Skylar took off her gloves shoving them into a loop on her belt before gently opening the door. The dusty carpet softened her footsteps as she closed the door behind her.
Skylar kept a vigilant eye out as she quietly accessed the stairs, her workshop was on the floor just below her bedroom and that's where the noise had come from.
Quietly climbing up the stairs, Skylar ran through each and every safety measure she could think of. She had left the weapons out in the open so there was nothing keeping the intruder from getting to those. She had her powers on her side, enough electricity to kill a man.
Did she really have to kill them? Well technically they did break into a windmill, even if it seemed abandoned that's still trespassing. It wouldn't even be fair as they couldn't see her. That is, as long as there human.
Wait, what if they're a spirit? What could she do then?
How would a spirit even find this place? No spirit has ever even seen her, that's out of the question. It's probably just some teenager, thinking that this would be a cool hangout spot.
Her thoughts continued to battle one another as she reached the top of the stairs. She pushed the hatch door to the side before looking around the room.
It was completely empty.
Hoisting herself up and onto floor of her workshop, Skylar scanned the area, somehow completely missing the figure who was crouched behind the anvil and looking at the underneath of the table beside it. Skylar turned to look at the wall behind the hatch, extremely on edge and ready to strike at the smallest disturbance in the air.
