The wind carried Jack through the open window and into the grand entrance of the workshop before placing him gently on the carpeted floor. It seemed all of the other guardians had already arrived and were waiting for reason as to why they were here. The only one missing from the five was the man whose house they currently stood in.
Leave it to North to want to make a dramatic entrance in an (assumably) drastic situation.
The door to the room swung open to reveal a large man clad in red. His footsteps echoed throughout the room as he descended the steps, making his way towards the group. Tooth stopped discussing with the many helpers that surrounded her and fluttered towards him, flying by his side as he made his way towards the other guardians.
"What is it? Why were we called here" she quickly chattered, waving away her small fairys who, in an attempt to get her attention, were squeaking around her. Unlike some of the guardians, she didn't have an off season, so she needed to be back to her palace as soon as possible. Tooth sincerely hoped that, for his own safety, this wasn't all because of a feeling in his stomach. He held those feelings above most reason only for them to be caused by his nearly pure sugar diet.
"Man In Moon" North spoke with a searious voice, his usual jolly and cheerful tone gone. His shoes drummed on the floor as he paced to the other side of the room, the others following in direct pursuit, before opening the doors and entering into another segment of the workshop; the globe room.
He stopped, tilting his head up and fixing his gaze on the skylight above him. The outside of the glass wouldn't have been lighting up the room in the slightest, due to it being February, if it weren't for the glowing moon situated directly above it.
Tooths feet landed softly on the ground, one before the other, as she looked up at the same skylight, quickly being followed in her actions by Sandy and Bunny. They all fell silent as they traced the beam cast by the moon onto the floor. Well, almost all of them.
"Anyone wanna tell me what the hell is happening?" Jack stated, casually swinging himself between the spirits, looking to each of them in hopes of some kind of answer or explication. However, none of the other protectors heard him, they were too focused on something else.
In the center of the room, a beam of light cast by the moon formed an image on the tiled floor. The bright beam had formed itself into an intricate picture, placing shadows and highlights accordingly, and now, the head of a certain dark haired girl could easily be made out.
The picture only added to Jacks state of confusion. Why was Skylars picture being shown on the floor of North's workshop? What was manny trying to say? Was it bad?
Questions swirled around inside Jacks head as he stood in a daze, seemingly staring at the picture of the dark haired girl. The other 4 protectors started questioning the image urgently. Statement such as "Who is this girl?" Or "Why is she important?" Looped continuously into the conversation they shared.
The loud symphony of accents speaking over one another brought Jack back to his senses. He drew his focus away from the image, though some part of him fought it, and towards the semi-distraught guardians.
"I know her"
The four snapped their heads in Jack's direction. A wave of silence crashed over them as the four sets of eyes locked their gaze on Jack, silently asking if this was another one of his jokes or if he actually knew the mysterious girl. Luckily the winter spirit had become very good at listening to unspoken words (how else would he know how desperately Skylar wanted him to come back even though she would never admit it). To say the least, he was a master at reading in between the lines.
"I'm not kidding. Met her the other day while she was pacing around Burgess. We talked a bit as well" Jack conveniently left out the fact that he had followed her and broken into her house.
"Her name's Skylar Storm, she lives in Europe somewhere, I don't know the exact country but I do know how to get there" Jack lazily dragged his staff across the floor, making intricate patterns of ice eat place it touched. Jack was a very impatient person, even the 3 minutes he had stood next to the picture on the floor was enough to bore his energetic spirit.
The room returned to its silent state for a few seconds, the four guardians contemplating what the mischievous boy had just said. Jack raised his gaze off of the floor and onto the group of guardians as he began lazily leaning on his staff, waiting for a response.
"Good good! So you go get her and bring back here?" North was the first to reply as he clapped him hands together, his Russian accent rolling off of his tongue. The guardian walked towards Jack, rubbing his hands together as he did so.
"Wha-what?" Tooth exclaimed before starting to chatter quickly and fly around the room, counting the points she's made as she makes them on her fingers.
"North we don't know who she is! She could be just as bad as pitch! What if this was a warning from Manny to avoid her? Do you understand how dangerous it would be for Jack to bring her back here on his own if she is a dark spirit?" Tooth spoke very quickly, her words almost keeping time with her hummingbird like wings.
"Ehh, but she not dark spirit" North stated in a light tone, not missing a beat before responding to her worries. He made his way over to Jack who still stood, waiting for the go ahead.
"How d-"
"I'm all for it." Jack cut in before bunny was able to get a single word out.
"Ah ha ha ha! You weell do fantasteec job! You see! He knows her!"North yelled in celebration, still attempting to convince the other guardians that it was a smart idea as he pulled Jack in by his shoulders for a bone crushing, hug.
"Now, where is sack?"
