The moment has come. The Carol Burnett Show had made it to the Emmy's. I felt as if everyone in the cast was nominated. I arrived on the red carpet with my husband. The photographers probably thought we were the comedic geniuses at work to allow our show to do so well. Only part of that was true; right now I felt like I didn't even know him anymore. I think show business got the best of his ego.
As Rodger and I were walking down the carpet, I found Vicki and her husband Al, and Tim with his wife. The one I was really eager to see was Harvey. Where could he be? I hope he wouldn't be late. We discussed the other night at dinner that I believed he could win the award. He has so much talent in his little finger that if his whole body can work that hard he has it in the bag.
A few minutes later, I saw that tall figure approach at the end of the carpet. When I looked at him, he smiled and I felt as if everything was rolling in stop motion. I have grown so in love with this man; enamored by his presence; and he treated me like a princess.
"Hi," he said while grinning. The two of us stood together to pose for a picture and we both happened to gaze into each other's eyes, but to avoid speculation we awkwardly turned towards the entrance hoping my husband didn't notice.
.............
Whilst the show was going on, I sat next to my husband, while Vicki, Tim, and Harvey sat behind us.
"Now to present the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Performance/Variety Television series," said the announcer. This was it. I was holding my breath that Harvey would win even though our other co-star Tim, was nominated too. I turned back to Harvey and Tim. "Good Luck! You deserve this, both of you!"
Now was the time!
The enveloped was being ripped open.
"And the winner for best supporting actor in a performance/variety is..
MR. HARVEY KORMAN!"
I instantly bounced in my seat an applauded, even my husband smiled and applauded as Harvey made his way to the stage . But then Tim quickly followed him. I was so confused but I just laughed at his weirdness. As Harvey reached the podium, I was so dazzled at how handsome he looked and so pleased he won because he really needed an Emmy.
As soon as Harvey picked up the trophy, Tim was standing right next to him with a sad puppy face as if he should have won. I was laughing hysterically. These two were crazy.
"Thank you, Thank you," he mouthed. And the crowd was howling at Tim's presence. I believe this was the best award acceptance ever.
"When I was in the fifth grade," Harvey started. Then Tim looked even sadder looking up at him. "I always dreamed of being an actor, and I'm glad to have the privilege to have this career," the crowd was still howling away. "And..and to work with idiots like this," pointing at Tim beside him. The crowd really went nuts. Harvey said his Thank yous and left the stage. He and Tim walked back to their seats, both of them giggling away . I turned to tap my hand on Harvey's knee and smiled, and I turned to Tim and squeezed his nose, and we all started laughing. It was a very magnificent evening thereafter his award.
A/N: I'm writing more yay! btw Happy Belated Birthday to Ms. Carol Burnett it was the 26th of April.
