He was no longer handsome, he was on the border line of beautiful. Colt Rivers was standing just a few feet behind her, in all his charming glory. Standing at a height of over six foot, dressed in a white hoodie, a blue denim jacket and a pair of black ripped jeans similar to that of hers. His bright blue eyes doesn't leave hers as he allows himself to take in what he's missed all these years. To him, April had gotten even prettier, she was still short, although to some other people, she was tall, standing in her five foot and seven inches. Her dark skin hadn't stopped shimmering since the time he last seen her. She looked fuller in the right places and her hair had grown out, curling in large masses and stopping at mid-length.

"Hey Rivers," she whispers back, still clearly in shock. Was he the gift Martha wanted her to see? The tension between them continues building far longer than she'd expected and she wasn't enjoying it, but he seemed to. Snapping herself out of the trance, she forced a smile on her face. "What're you doing here?" she asks. "I'm just looking for a good book to spend my time reading," he replies, an amused twinkle in his eyes. "Okay, well I'm gonna leave you to that. It was nice see-"

"When did you get back from New York? "he asks, cutting her off and she inhales. "I got back last night," she replies and his eyes widen. "There was a snow storm, how'd you make it home?" he asks in bewilderment and she shrugs. "I couldn't sleep in the airport, so I rented a car and drove myself home. Obviously there wouldn't be a single cab driver that would be willing to drive in that kind of storm, " she lightly chuckles, looking up at him. "What about you? Have you been here all this time?" she asks, placing with the charm bracelet on her wrist. "Not really. I just flew back home from Brooklyn to come for Christmas like I always do every year. Not gonna lie its funny seeing you here, "he replies, stuffing both hands into his pocket. "I know I missed out on a lot but it's not like I was bailing on the family, I was always busy and work never let me. I was only given a day off in most cases," she sighs and he nods, pressing his lips into a thin line. "I'm guessing you're also leaving by New Year too right?" he asks and April winces, looking out the window. "A few days after New Year. Like I said if I had things better I would have stayed longer but that's not the case, " she replies.

"Well it's nice to see you again," he adds, taking in her appearance. He knew she felt uneasy under his eyes but somehow he was enjoying it. Sure, he was the reason why they were the way they were today but he enjoyed knowing that he had some sort of effect on her.

Her phone rings and she fishes it out of her purse, excuses herself and walks further down the aisle, leaving Colt staring after her.

"Hey Simon, what's up?"

"I got the job! "

"Are you serious?!" she squeals, placing her hand on her chest.

"I'm not kidding April. I got the literal job! "

"That's amazing. So when do you start?" she asks, beaming proudly.

"By the 11th of January, same with you guys."

"Oh my God, that's so amazing! " she gushes.

Colt silently watches as she continues laughing at something the caller had said. A part of him wanted to know who it was, did she have a boyfriend? He wanted to know, not that he was interested, it was more like giving the curious cat what it wanted to hear.

Minutes later she returns with a wide beam on her face and her cheeks a bit flushed. "It was nice seeing you again Rivers but I gotta go," she says, pulling out a book from the shelf and giving it a one over. She wasn't going to leave the library without getting some books now was she? Before he can respond, she'd already picked up three romance novels. "See you later Rivers."
