Three weeks later.
THE HEAT was undescribable.
Standing in the parking lot leading into Abeid Amani Karume International airport was quite overwhelming. The terminal was over run with people, all with different kinds of boxes and luggage. Wasn't there an embargo?
Thankfully I'd been smart enough to get sunhats for the ladies and then straw hats for the guys. Colt had declined the offer on wearing the straw hats at first, claiming that it made him look less manly but by the time we'd gotten out of the plane and stepped out into the parking lot, he didn't need to be told twice.
Adjusting my sunglasses, I fan my face with the thin pamphlet in my hand whilst scanning through the crowded parking lot for Evelyn. It was was to spot her out since she was dressed in a bright red dress with wild crazy patterns on it.
I could vividly remember Cherry's reaction when she saw the dress. It was simply too much, she'd stated but Evelyn didn't care, especially since Christine had gotten a matching ones.
Grabbing my luggage, I push my tired feet forward, pulling the weight behind me. "Need any help babe?" I glance back at Colt and shake my head.
As much as I needed relief from these bags, I couldn't just push them to Colt. He also had his own luggage to carry. It simply wouldn't be fair.
Finally meeting up with Evelyn who's now speaking to a cab driver, showing him the address of the guest house we would be staying in, I lean against my bag, trying to catch my breath and restore relief to my aching legs.
A couple of minutes later and we'd succeeded in paying for vehicles. One was for the Rivers family and the other was for us. Considering how small the Rivers family were, there was a lot more space in their car.
The drive to our guest house takes about an hour or more, I wasn't keeping count anymore as I'd fallen asleep once the air conditioning had been switched on.
By the time I'm awake, the first thing I feel is something soft underneath me. Pushing myself up into a sitting position, I look around. I was in a white room, laid out on the bed, still dressed in what I'd left the house in a couple hours ago.
Confused and somewhat refreshed, I get out of bed and slowly trudge out of the room, the pain in my neck greeting me as I tried massaging the affected area.
"Finally you're awake." I spin around to see Cherry who seemed to be stepping out of her room, dressed in one of the Hawaiian shirts she'd gotten weeks ago from the flea market, and a pair of shorts.
"Where's everyone?"
"We're all at the back. Colt wanted to wake you up but I guess he didn't want to disturb you," she says before walking off towards the stairs.
Strolling back into our room, it takes me a while I gather myself as I attempt to compile a list of things I had to do before joining the rest of the family downstairs.
My luggage still remained untouched in front of our closets, along with Colt's own. Realizing how much work it's going to be, I decide to put aside the list and just join the rest in the patio.
Hopping into the shower, I take a refreshing shower, making a mental note to soak in the bathtub whenever I eventually have the chance to. Finding something to wear isn't the problem since I'd packed most of my clothes into one bag, sectioning them out.
In no less than ten minutes, I'm heading down the stairs, trying to locate the patio, dressed in a button down hawaiian shirt, similar to that of Cherry's own and a pair of butt shorts. It seemed like the perfect thing to wear since it was comfortable.
