The house the company had paid for was exactly as I hoped it to be. I'd spoken to the management after being asked a few questions, stating clearly that I didn't want something too much. I knew what they were capable of. The company was practically swimming in money and they were capable of getting anything, so long as the staffs were okay with it.

Unlike the rest who had chosen something a little bit over the top, I'd informed the management that if they were going to get me anything, it had to be something close to my workplace and a house that wasn't pink.

When Colt and I had gotten to my new house at Vilas, we had been too tired to even have a thorough look at the place but by the following morning, with me having the day off and Colt having no where to go, we were free to enjoy and scope the place out.

Our new house, was a cute family sized house. I still didn't understand why they'd chosen a house with four rooms in it but then again I wasn't complaining. The exterior part of the walls had been painted a light shade of grey, it's window panes, white. All the doors had been painted white too. In front of the door lay a green welcome path with a small smiley face at the side.

Cute.

The interior part of the house, on the other hand, was more of brown and white, totally giving off an outdoor wooden cabin kind of vibe. It looked chic. At a corner of the living room was a wide fireplace and above it a mantle piece. Kinda old if you ask me but I wasn't complaining.

Most of the furniture were white, brown furry pillows adding the final touches to the couches and sofa. A finely polished wooden table stood at the centre of the living room and underneath it a light brown furry rug which stretched out across some parts of the floors of the living room.

The windows gave an outlook to the beautiful lush garden out front and a peaceful neighbourhood. The kitchen looked like your typical kitchen but the difference was that unlike mine back in Brooklyn, it had state of the art cooking equipment.

A small door lead to the back where there was a little backyard with a semi-high fence. It wasn't too high to look intimidating, neither was it too low to let wandering eyes in.

I smiled, taking in the place. Last night was truly tiring. We'd only managed to get our things into the house late that night after a delayed flight and hadn't bothered on even unpacking. So far there were still a lot of work to do today.

We had to unpack, restock the fridge and the drawers. Cleaning supplies were necessary if we wanted to keep the house clean.

Warm sunlight streamed in through the windows and a gentle breeze swept through the living room, ruffling the curtains. My smile widened. This house was perfect and sharing it with Colt only made it better.

"It's so beautiful here isn't it?" I turn to Colt who's staring at me with a small smirk at the corner of his lips, his eyes pinned solely on me and I nodded, tearing my eyes from him.

"I still don't understand why they got me a family house. Maybe Whites forgot I'm no longer engaged?" Brushing my fingertips against the smooth marble counter, enjoying the cool feeling of it against my skin.
