Lori came in with dinner and I looked at her. "Have you seen Daryl?" I asked her.
"Outside, hasn't came in since your visit earlier."
I sighed as she helped me sit up. "Did you say somethin' that has him pissed off?"
"I didn't think he would get mad at me."
"What did you say?"
"I told him I loved him."
"Wow," she siad in a shocked tone.
"Is he really that mad about it?"
"I don't know if he's mad or just confused."
"Tell him I wanna talk with him, if he comes back."
"I will."
I was on my feet within the next day. It was a little hard to walk but I was doing pretty good.
"Slow down," Lori told me as she walked with me down the steps.
As soon as i was on the ground I heard yells then a shotgun. "What's going on?" I asked Lori.
"Get in the house,'' she said.
"No, what if someone got hurt?" I asked.
"If there are Walkers you should be inside."
But I didn't listen, I went out towards the barn anyways. I gasped when I saw Walkers emerging from the barn.
"Oh god," whispered Lori before she took off running towards Carl.
One by one all the walkers were shot down. I made it to them before I finally crashed to my knees in pain.
I clenched my side as the gunshots rang out from all around me. When the shots stopped I was grabbed. "Come on, we need to get you back to the house,'' Lori whispered.
When I was on my feet the cried of Carol made the two of us turn around. "Sophia!" she cried out.
My feet gave out from under me when I saw little Sophia as a walker. Lori was down next to me, tears streaming down her face.
I looked at Rick and he was the only one that could step foreward. I looked down, not willing to watch. I jumped at the sound of the gun going off. Carol cried in agony even more as her little girl fell into the pile of other officially dead Walkers.
"Kaleb, where's Kaleb?" I choaked out.
That's when a screamed pierced my ear. I turned quickly and was on my feet. My eyes landed on Kaleb who ran to Sophia. "KALEB NO!" I screamed.
I screamed as a walker reached it's large decayed hand up and landed on Kaleb. "KALEB!" I screamed. I took off running at full force but it was too late. "KALEB!" I cried as the Walker snapped it's teeth on Kaleb's arm.
I screamed and cried out as I was grabbed by the waist. I fought through the pain to get away from Daryl to get to my baby brother. "KALEB!" I cried as I sank to my knees.
Daryl fell down with me as he held me in place. Everyone was looking around, deciding who was gonna take them both out. I shoved off Daryl, grabbed his shotgun and moved foreward.
I looked into Kaleb's brwon eyes before holding the shotgun up at him. "I'm sorry," i whispered.
"Do it," he replied.
I hesitetnly pulled the trigger. Tears fell from my eyes as the bang echoed around the camp. I screamed as I kicked the walker in the head. It growled as I got ontop of it and started bashing its head in with the butt of the gun.
I was bashing, over and over and over again, the blood coming out at me like there was no tomorrow. I fought off the arms trying to pull me up. "NO! LET ME GO!" I screamed.
"Come on, we need to get you inside, now," Daryl said.
I stood up, letting the gun fall. I screamed as I started hitting on his chest. "I HATE YOU!" I screamed as I hit him some more. He grabbed my arms as i just screamed at him. "HOW COULD YOU LET HIM DIE?!" I cried out. I struggled against him as he pulled me into his arms.
"Get your hands off of me,'' I said as he finally let me go.I was laying on the bed, emotionless, as Hershal re-stitched me up. "We're almost out of stitches, we don't have many of these left so we cna't have everyone getting hurt," Hershal said.
"I'll keep an eye out on her," I heard Daryl say.
"Your still gonna watch her after all that shit she said to you earlier?" Shane asked.
"She didn't mean what she said, Shane, she was hurting," Lori said.
"She's gonna need to take a shower or something so she can lie down on her fresh sheets," Hershal said.
"Yeah, I'll get her."
After everyone left the room Daryl must've set his bow down because I heard a loud noise. "Come on," Daryl said as he helped me to my feet. The room was filled with steam by the time Daryl and I got into the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror. My face was covered with the blood from the Walker.
I pulled my tank top over my head and threw it onto the ground. I slid out of my jeans and left them in the same pile. I reached behind me to unclip my bra but the pain forbid me.
"I'll get it," Daryl said.
Like the first time, he struggled with the clasps. Once he finally got it unhooked I let it fall to the ground. I shimmied slowly out of my panties before getting into the warm shower. I looked at the botttom of the shower and watched the dried blood go down the drain. The blood of my brother. I instantly started to cry.
"Ssh, it's okay," Daryl whispered as he joined me.
I burried my face in his already wet chest and sobbed on him. When we got out of the shower there was a knocck on the door. Daryl opened it up and Lori looked down wide-eyed as him in just a towel. "Yes?"
"Aly's clothes are in the room," she said.
"Don't worry Lori, nothing was happenin' in here," I informed.
"Good,'' she said before walking off.
I let him help me dress, thanks to the wound I couldn't do it myself. He helped me into bed and he grabbed his bow off the ground. As he turned to leave the room I caught him by the wrist. "Stay with me?"
He looked down at me before setting his bow back on the ground and moving towards the other side of the room.
He lifted up the covers and he got in the bed next to me. I was facing the wall and he came up beside me. His arm wrapped around my waist and I reached up and took his hand. "Thank you," I whispered and snuggled into the pillow.
"I love you," he whispered back. TBC
