"Are you sure about this? We don't have to go in." Eddie looked over at me in the parked car.
"Why would I not want to go in?"
"I don't know. I just- we can do this later, you know?" Eddie scratched the back of his head, acting very suspicious.
"Eddie, what's going on?"
"Nothing." Eddie forced a smile on his face before getting out of the car. I was left there in a swirling cloud of confusion as Eddie came around the car to open my door. He reached his hand out, allowing me to take it to help me out. Suddenly, Eddie pulled me into the biggest hug. At first, I didn't know what to do from the shock, but then I wrapped my arms around his torso.
"What's this for?" I asked into his chest.
"Just because I love you." Eddie kissed my head and lingered there for a moment as he slightly rocked us back and forth.
"You're scaring me." I pulled back and looked into his worried eyes.
"I'm sorry, darling." Eddie leaned down and kissed me. I felt the tension in my body disappear as I melted underneath his touch.
"I thought I heard you guys out here." Wayne came out as soon as we pulled apart. He stood at the door, looking over at us with a huge smile. "Well, come on in." I grabbed Eddie's hand and dragged him inside, but he stopped me right before he could step in.
"I'll be in in a second." I gave him a questionable look, but nodded before shutting the door behind me.
"How have you been, girly?" Wayne distracted me as I walked deeper inside.
"I've been really good, thank you. I brought over some brownies." I sat the container down on the counter with a bottle of wine.
"Oh, wow." Wayne walked over and peeked inside. "Can I have one?"
"Go ahead. Take as many as you'd like." I smiled. Wayne gave me a wink before grabbing one and moaned as he chewed his piece.
"These are amazing!" I smiled wider at Wayne's compliment as I felt a light tinge of red brush my cheeks. "I should've waited until after we ate because now I want more."
Wayne and I started having a small conversation as Eddie stayed outside, doing god-knows-what. I helped him with the small meal preparation that mainly consisted of me trying to kick him out of the kitchen so I could do the work.
"Uncle Wayne, what the hell?" Eddie looked between Wayne and I after walking into the trailer.
"What? She made me do it!" Wayne tried to defend himself. Eddie looked at me in the kitchen with a look of disbelief.
"It's true." I shrugged.
"You lazy son of a bitch." Eddie shook his head at his uncle who sat in his Lazy Boy with a beer in his hand.
"Ah, you don't know nothing." Wayne waved a hand at Eddie as he made his way over to me.
"It smells really good in here." Eddie smiled at me as he watched me rush around to get everything settled down.
"Yeah, I know. It's because I'm an amazing cook." I winked at him.
"Cocky, I like it." Eddie came over and kissed my cheek before grabbing a beer from the fridge.
"Alright, now we can sit and relax for a little bit." I smiled as I looked over at him. Eddie sipped his beer as he looked over at his uncle watching TV in the living room. His eyes then met mine before he took another swig of his beer. "Eddie what's going on?"
