This Is What Falling In Love Feels Like

Juliet and I were now at home and relaxing after our eventful day. I still couldn't explain what happened in that store today with Juliet or why her nose was bleeding, but it did sound a lot like Eleven, the girl that Mike told me so much about.

Could Juliet be an experimental child as well? Did she have super powers?

The phone ringing from the kitchen pulled me from my thoughts and the mysteries of the day. I went to stand up, but Juliet beat me to it and ran over to pick it up. The television blocked out her conversation, so I wasn't able to ease drop.

"Hey, do you care if I go to the arcade with Max?" Juliet came back over with her question.

"What time is it?" I asked her.

"It's about 5:30, why?"

"What about dinner?" I wasn't against her going to the arcade or even hanging out with Max, but I wanted to make sure she was fed before she leaves.

"Oh, I think Max wanted to go get something to eat before we go anyways, so I'll eat. I think I'm going to spend the night, too." Juliet slid in her new idea with me, waiting for my reaction.

"You're staying at Max's on a school night?" I asked, looking at her with confusion. She usually never did that.

"(Y/N), I'll be fine. Max and I want to spend some time together and I know we'll make it to school on time tomorrow." Juliet pleaded me with her eyes as she waited impatiently for my answer.

"Just be careful, okay?" Juliet gave me a quick hug before running up the stairs and grabbing her things. I shook my head and smiled at this. It never seized to make me happy when Juliet made friends that she loved dearly; especially, when they are great friends like the group. I envied her close relationship with Max the most. They genuinely loved one another and were always hanging out.

"Do I need to drop you off?" I yelled into the house, hoping my voice carried up the stairs. I waited silently for Juliet's answer.

"Yeah, if you could." Juliet yelled back after a minute. I nodded to myself and continued watching Cheers on television while I waited for her to finish.

"I'll see you tomorrow!" Juliet called out before running over to Max, who stood waiting for Juliet at her front door. Max waved at me with a smile and I returned the gesture as they walked into the trailer.

As I looked into my rearview mirror, I caught the view of Eddie's trailer. My heart skipped a beat as I thought about what to do. I sat there for about five minutes trying to decide, when I finally chose my answer: I was going to stop by and see if Eddie was home. I know the truth now and I don't want to lose him more than I already have.

I backed my car up and moved it over to Eddie's. I sat in my car, preparing myself, then got out and knocked on his door. I stood there awkwardly waiting and wanting to run for my life. I was nervous waiting for him to open the door. What if he doesn't want to see me?

No one showed up, so I knocked one last time. With no answer once more, I dragged my feet back to my car, almost feeling defeated, and drove myself back home to be alone.

I ended up stopping at the store to grab a few things and to preoccupy my mind before going home to emptiness. I knew what happened whenever I was alone and I hated it. I could never keep my mind off of the things that haunted me and will haunt me forever.

The sun was setting as I arrived home. I sat in my car, my head pressed against the headrest, and I blew out a breath that I feel like I've been holding in for years. I slowly closed my eyes and told myself to think happy thoughts before opening my eyes back up and getting out of the car. I grabbed the brown paper bags from the trunk before walking up to the front door.
