I haven't seen Eddie since school yesterday and it's killing me. The girls and I shopped for our dresses after school, so I haven't been able to see him. With today being the dance, it makes me even more nervous that I have to wait longer, but it's a nice thought to think he'll be showing up in a suit.
Last night, I was able to distract myself by decorating the Christmas tree with Juliet with ornaments passed over to us by everyone. I even took out the time to drive us to the store and grab some of our own to make it a little more meaningful. I made sure to grab the letters that went with our names, making sure to add a B, E and D.
"(Y/N), stop moving your leg, you're making it harder to paint your nails." Nancy complained.
"Shit, sorry." I stopped my leg form bouncing any further and, instead, I started drumming my free hand on the table. Nancy sighed and stopped what she was doing. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry. I'm just really nervous."
"You shouldn't be. You're going to look beautiful and we're all going to have so much fun." She tried to reassure me, but it wasn't working. I was still nervous at the thought of Eddie not liking how I look. Why would he hate how I dress? I know he finds me beautiful no matter what, but something was different this time.
"There." Nancy smiled down at my solid white nails.
"Finally." I huffed. Nancy glared up at me, so I fixed what I said. "I mean, thank you."
"I'm here, I'm here!" Chrissy came running in through the front door screaming as she held a dress, holding her dress.
"What took you so long?" Juliet wondered out loud as she sat on the coffee table in the living room. She was putting make up on Max after convincing her that she wanted to experiment - "just to see what it would look like." Poor Maxine.
"Um, I-" Chrissy tried to look for an answer, but couldn't find one. She came waltzing into the living room with a bright red face as she looked down at the floor.
"You dirty dog." I smirked at her. Chrissy stuck her tongue at me, making me laugh.
"Where's Robin?" Chrissy asked, trying to change the subject.
"She's with Steve. She'll be here soon, though." Nancy told her. She nodded and took a deep breath as she sat down across from me. Chrissy then proceeded to take out a large bag full of sounds.
"Time for make up!" She sang. I looked over at Nancy in horror as she smirked, knowing damn well I didn't want make up on my face.
"Count me out." I laughed. Chrissy snapped her neck to look over at me, glaring at me in a scary way. I tried to stand my ground, but she honestly scared the crap out of me. "Fine, but only a little bit."
------------------------
After a long, agonizing process, I felt ridiculous. Chrissy plastered my face with black eyeshadow, mascara, blush, eyeliner, all of it. It looked nice, but I wasn't used to it all.
I looked at myself in the mirror and sighed. I was wearing an all black dress that had one sleeve and it was tight on the top while fluffed out on the bottom. I matched it with small black heels with my hair braided back into a bun. It was weird seeing myself like this, but oddly enough, I liked it.
Before I could talk myself out of it, I left my room and went downstairs. Robin and Steve were sitting on the couch when I walked out, causing their heads to turn towards me as they heard my heels click.
"Wow!" Steve stood up as he kept his eyes on me. I blushed from this as Robin also stood up. She was wearing a suit, which wasn't surprising after she refused to buy a dress, even after Nancy begged her a million times. I loved how stubborn she was.
