"We need an extra person, (Y/n). You are the only person we know that plays DND!"

I stare at Dustin Henderson and Mike Wheeler. Two boys that I have been babysitting for years. I had just walked out of Ms. Kelly's office, and I am already getting attacked by some of the most annoying people ever. Just kidding, I love them. But seriously, I have the worst headache and I just want to go home.

"I don't know Dustin. I have no idea who anybody is beside you and Mike. Plus, my head is going to burst."

Dustin stares at me with his big doe eyes. I cross my arms and I try not to let him get to me. I look at Mike and he just smiles hoping it would get him somewhere. I groan and roll my eyes while throwing a miniature fit.

"Fine. But just because I love you both."

They high fived each other and I laugh while pushing their foreheads, "as long as I can sit with you guys at lunch."

They nod and grab one of my arms to rush me into the cafeteria. The whole walk there they are explaining that Lucas can't come because he has the basketball game tonight, and they chose me because I'm the best DND player they know which is shocking. I mean, I'm not that good. I know the rules and everything. We walk in the cafeteria until the boys suddenly stop walking, looking at a table.

"He looks revved up today," Mike says while looking over at Dustin.

"Who," I question but I just get ignored.

"it's fine! We will explain to him what is going on with Lucas then say we already found a sub."

We start to walk over and i sigh while regretting saying that i would be their sub for them.

They smile and introduce me by pushing me forward. I look at the people who are sitting at the table while they stare at me.

"Never seen a girl before," i snap at them and they look away.

I turn around annoyed to talk to the boys and meet eyes with a brown-eyed, curly black-haired boy with Mike and Dustin. He walks over to me before kissing my hand.

"Hello, sweetheart," he smiles "I am Eddie, Eddie Munson."

no fucking way... "(Y/n) Cunningham."

He nods and wraps his arm around my shoulder. He starts asking me a bunch of questions about DND and how long I have been playing while he makes me sit down next to him. I look at the boys for help and they just look down. They are no help, so I just answer him. We end up talking for a while until he starts to go on a rant on how they aren't the cool kids. I smile and he starts to get up onto the table.

"As long as you're into the band, or science, or parties," he looks around and looks directly at the basketball table, "or a game where you toss balls into laundry baskets!"

I laugh and see Jason, my sister's boyfriend, look at Eddie while shouting if he wants something. Eddie replies by sticking his fingers up and making devil horns while sticking his tongue out. We laugh as he walks back and jumps off the table. I see a smirk form on his face as he watches someone start to walk towards the table.

"That's what's killing the kids," he runs up to her as she gasps and walks away quickly. He bows his head and lets some cheerleaders pass along. I smile and sit facing forward as Eddie sits next to me, while crossing his arms.

"Speaking of. Lucas has his ball in laundry basket game so he wont make it to Hellfire tonight, but that is why we have brought this lovely lady. She has been our babysitter for years and knows how to play," Dustin explains.

"As long as you are the sub, I'm fine," Eddie smiles at me. I breathe in and stare at him while he stares back. We just look at each other for a moment until one of Eddies friends clears his throat, pulling away his gaze from mine.

"I am so happy I am getting out of this garbage fire people call a school," Eddie says and wraps his arms around the back of my chair.

I cross my arms and sit back while nodding. I feel someone tap my shoulder and I look up to see Chrissy standing beside me with all the boys staring at her except for Eddie.

I get up as she drags me a little bit back, "(Y/n), I have a problem. I just had this like nightmare, but it wasn't a nightmare. I was awake and in the bathroom down the hall. It was crazy, it was mom banging on the door while yelling, it felt so real."

I look at her confused and I put my hand on her forehead to see if she is sick. I sigh and shrug while looking at her.

"Chris, if you feel sick then we can leave early. I was planning on it already since my head hurts."

She shakes her head and sighs back at me. She goes into her bag and gives me two tylenol; I swallow the pills and think of something to make her feel better.

"Let's go for a walk in the woods after school then, maybe it will clear up your mind."

She shakes her head and crosses her arms, "I would but I can't, I have cheer practice for the championship game."

I nod and I hug her, "okay. If you change your mind then i'll be there; just rest when you get home later. Love you."

"Love you too, (Y/n)," and with that she walks off with her hand on her head and I sit back down staring at her until I start to talk again with Eddie and the group again about bands and random shit.
