{Eddie's POV}

{Kitchen}

{8:08am}

We had to get the fuck out of there, now.

I ran to the kitchen and grabbed all the food out of the cabinets I could get.

I started packing up the grocery bags.

"Hey man! Not cool!" Steve said following me in here.

"Oh what you got something to say, Harrington?!"

He started talking but I wanted none of it.

When I tuned back in he was still scolding me. "..You need to go back in there and apologize to Dani man!"

All I saw was red.

"Okay fine! Dani I'm SO sorry you're dating a freak!!"

It echoed through the whole house.

"You want to be useful, Harrington? You want to be the hero?! Go pack Dani's bag, get her in the car and help me get her the FUCK out of here!!"

I snapped as I made eye contact with the thirty-rack.

Without thinking I grabbed a beer from the fridge, I started chugging.

I grabbed the rest of that thirty-rack and put it in another bag.

I just continued to drink, gulp by gulp until it was empty.

I crushed it in my hand and threw it on the ground.

I reached into the packed bag and pulled out another.

Downed it, tossed it.

And another.

Downed it, tossed it.

Lost in the idea of trying to drown out what was happening.

When I came back to the real world I wanted another drink.

When I turned around Steve wasn't there anymore. He had brought the beer out to the car before I had a chance.

So instead I ran to the living room to pack blankets and heard a crash right next to me.

Another rock.

I ducked by all the windows and ran to Dani's room, Robin was helping Dani get dressed as she cried in pain and fear.

Steve was watching and guarding the windows.

I couldn't wait any longer.

"Robin, Steve, grab the food bags and the clothes." I said sternly.

They stammered and protested but I couldn't hear.

"GO! Just GO would you?!!" Before Steve could respond Robin pushed him out of Dani's room.

I rushed over to Dani, she was still sobbing.

I started throwing her clothes over her body, shorts, the shirt she slept in, I was being quick about it.

She was begging me to stop, wincing in pain every time I moved her.

I looked at her and held either side of her face. "Baby, I know it hurts but I really need you to be my strong girl right now, please!" I cried, my face just inches from her.

She pushed me off her and landed on her bed.

Dani stared at me, covering her mouth as more tears streamed down her face, hyperventilating.

"What are you doing  Dani? Let's go!" I said with eyes that were begging.

"Do I sm..smell beer on your breath? Did you drink  Eddie?"

I froze.

"Drinking at a time like this? Are you drunk!?" She cried out.

In that moment I realized she feared me like she feared her father.

"No, no no no I'm not drunk princess." I stammered out, talking softer.

"I just had one, I was stressed, I..I'm sorry!" I knew it was a lie, and I think Dani did too.

"Oh sure! Like I haven't heard that before!" She started talking, imitating her dads voice while standing on her own two feet.

She was yelling like she was drunk and stumbling towards me.

I could tell the whole world was spinning for her but she didn't care.

She continued to talk in that deep, slurred voice. "Dani! I just had one! It makes me feel better about losing your mom and brother! Please! I'm sorry I hit you! It was just one! It was JUST ONE! "

"GET TO THE FUCKING VAN DANI!" I screamed the loudest I ever had.

I felt the walls shake around me and I slammed my hand down on her desk.

She stopped dead in her tracks, her tear stained cheeks were red with anger.

She swayed in place with vertigo, she couldn't even look at me.

"Some boyfriend.." She said hoarsely as she turned and stumbled out of her room, sobbing.

I flinched when I heard the front door slam.

"Eddie? Eddie come in, it's Robin." I heard over the walkie talkie on Dani's bed.

"What's up Robin?" I spoke into the black and grey piece of junk.

"Steve's car is packed, we also went to the pharmacy to get medicine. Where do you want to go?"

I sighed and gave her the address of my dealers cabin.

He was out of town, well,

extensively.

"Hurry there, we'll meet you. Theres a spare key under the front deck, behind the bush."

"Copy that, on our way, Robin and Steve out." The line went to static, I held onto it and grabbed my jacket, vest and keys as I ran out of her room.

I paused, looking back in her room.

Take her mother's dress. I thought to myself.

I just said fuck it and grabbed the hanger with the dress and ran out the front door.

When I closed the door I saw Dani on the ground.

"Shit!" I ran to her and she was throwing up.

I really fucked up.

She was crying as she did so. "D..Dizzy.." She sobbed, I heard a crash from behind the house.

Another window.

Jason was here, there's only one person. "Come out and FIGHT!" I heard a voice call from the back yard.

Time to go.

I picked Dani as quickly and carefully as possible, even though it hurt like hell, I held her with my bad hand so I could open the car door with my good one.

I placed her in the passenger side and buckled her up.

I checked around the van, tires were all good.

I ran to the drivers side and immediately drove away.

Dani just sat there, her head bobbing every which way.

"Dani, it's okay baby, we're going to the cabin, we'll be safe there."

I said as I grabbed her hand, she squeezed it weakly and just cried.

She didn't speak another word the whole drive.

She just cried.
