One - Death

What exactly does death mean?

I know it means they are no longer here standing on earth and breathing but people keep telling me they will always be with me. My family would hug me and sob about how they will always be in my heart.

The funeral had a big turnout. Everyone was there and I saw relatives I haven't seen in years.

I guess you can say I'm coping. My brother gave in and cried for two weeks after they died.

I haven't cried once.

"Flight 29 boarding."

I got up off the airport bench and walked to my gate.

I'm moving to live with my aunt and uncle. They live in Florida in a small beach town called Macville. I know it's going to be warmer there but not much right?

I looked down at my Abercrombie light washed jeans and red converse. I had on a long sleeved lacrosse shirt. I'll be fine.

I gave the guy my plane ticket and found my seat.

No one ended up in the seat beside me so I put my earbuds in and looked out the window.

The plane ride didn't last that long and I stayed awake the whole time. I just don't sleep on planes.

I grabbed my black luggage from the baggage claim and walked out the airport doors.

Crap.

Bad idea.

I practically ran back inside.

Damn it's hot here.

There were TVs hanging everywhere and I searched for one that said the temperature.

91 degrees?!?

91 fucking degrees.

It's summer I know it should be hot but I've never experienced this heat.

Oh I decided to finish the school year before moving here. It wasn't bad. I stayed with my neighbor most of the time.

I didn't leave much behind.

Everything is being sent to my aunt and uncle's house.

I had all but two friends. I'm gonna miss them. They promise to call but it doesn't matter to me if they do. They should continue with their life and enjoy it.

My iPhone was vibrating and I took it out. An unknown number was calling but I answered anyway.

"Hello?"

"Alyssa? Darling! We are waiting in the front to pick you up!"

My aunt.

"Okay. Thanks Auntie Laura."

I pressed the red button and put the phone back into my back right pocket.

Yay I have to go back out there.

Note the sarcasm.

I reluctantly stepped out of the air conditioned air port and into the boiling world.

Seriously who can survive this?

I scanned the cars quickly, looking for my aunt's GMC suburban.

I guess you can say my whole family is rich.

Never mind that I need to find their flipping car before I die!

I spot it at the end and I sprint towards it.
