My arm itches.
I move my left arm over my stomach and scratch my right arm. Following this, my eyelids open up, revealing a room full of people. I glance at my surroundings before determining exactly where I am.
Machines, ugly chairs, sterile trash cans; hospital.
Wait why am I in the hospital? Oh. Garlic.
There's a mask covering my mouth and nose, along with an IV hooked up to my arm. I take the mask off and cough a little bit. All the people suddenly turn to me and run over. All the Gordons, Mike, Kayla and Kendra, my aunt and uncle, and Ryan were here. Now, I must've been out for a day at least because when I had the date, they were coming back tomorrow.
I need some questions answered.
"Alyssa! Are you okay?" Was almost every question out of all their mouths.
"Just dandy." I rub my eyes and instantly regret it. They burn. "Look, can you all quiet down so I can ask my questions I have at the moment?" I practically yell out of annoyance.
Everyone stops their concerning and I begin. "How long have I been out or whatever?"
"You have been in a coma for a week." Aunt Laura answers.
Wow. A week? That's a record time for me. "So it was an allergic reaction?" I clarified.
"Yes." Mrs. Gordon nods.
"Have you all been here a week?" I sit up and Uncle Lucas helps me.
"Well Gabe came here with the ambulance, Ryan drove, and I got a call. I had to bring Mr. Gordon here, who called Mike, which led Garrett. Whilst they were here, I went to pick up Gavin." Mrs. Gordon started.
"Then, I called aunt and uncle. Gabe said something about your friends, so he called them." Mike continued.
I nod, taking all of this information in.
"We should probably get a doctor in here." Uncle Lucas says.
"We'll go." Uncle Lucas and Aunt Laura leave.
"Since you are awake now, we really have to go to work. But we'll see you later." Mrs. Gordon hugs me and Mr. Gordon pats my shoulder. Gavin runs along with them.
"We have soccer practice. Will you be okay? I promise that we'll be back for you." Kayla asked.
"Wait, since when do you guys do soccer?" I asked them.
"We have every summer. It just didn't start until now and you didn't know because...yeah." Kendra shrugged.
"Go ahead." I smiled and they left.
That leaves Mike, Garrett, Gabe, and Ryan.
"How did you eat garlic anyways?" Mike wondered aloud.
"This ass here fed it to her." Gabe pointed at Ryan.
"No one fed it to me." I folded my arms over my chest. "Ryan didn't even know."
"He just keeps hurting you. Maybe all of this is a sign or something." Gabe pointed out.
"Oh just stop it Gabe." I glared at him. "Why did you tell the EMT that you were my boyfriend anyways?" I challenged.
"You said you were her boyfriend?" Mike glares at Gabe.
"Yeah. I just wanted to be there to see what happened and if you were okay. I knew your family." Gabe said matter-of-factly.
He does have a point. Ryan wouldn't of known who to call or their numbers.
