No way in hell am I going to sing in front of these townies.
I don't sing.
Okay I do but not in front of people.
The guys shoved me forward and the crowd dispersed to make a path.
I reluctantly make my legs walk to the small stage before us.
My knees are weak and my palms are sweating.
Don't. Make. Me. Do. This.
"Uh I didn't volunteer."I rambled to the guy.
"Come on you'll be fine."
He took my hand and pulled me on stage.
I clammily took the microphone from him and looked at the crowd.
There was about 50 people. Not many.
I keep forgetting this is a tiny town.
I move the microphone and it makes an ear piercing sound.
Everyone covers their ears and I look towards my "friends" nervously.
Kayla gave me a reassuring smile while the others just stared blankly.
I cleared my throat and told the DJ the song.
He began to play it and I sung .
You're the light, you're the night
You're the color of my blood
You're the cure, you're the pain
You're the only thing I wanna touch
Never knew that it could mean so much, so much
I squeaked out the first verse, glancing at the faces intently watching me.
You're the fear, I don't care
Cause I've never been so high
Follow me to the dark
Let me take you past our satellites
You can see the world you brought to life, to life
I gracefully sang the next verse, gaining confidence.
So love me like you do, love me like you do
Love me like you do, love me like you do
Touch me like you do, touch me like you do
What are you waiting for?
I full out sung the chorus and people clapped their hands and hollered. I smiled and continued to sing the song.
Fading in, fading out
On the edge of paradise
Every inch of your skin is a holy grail I've got to find
Only you can set my heart on fire, on fire
Yeah, I'll let you set the pace
Cause I'm not thinking straight
My head spinning around I can't see clear no more
What are you waiting for?
Love me like you do, love me like you do
Love me like you do, love me like you do
