Chapter 3
OMOLARA'S POV
I headed to my own apartment close to campus and met my three best friends in my apartment. We rented the apartment together, it wasn’t bad. It had two rooms with bathrooms, a kitchen, a small sitting room. Bisi and I stayed in the same room while Rita and Amanda stayed in the other room.
Rita, Bisi and Amanda have been my friends since I entered the University. We trust each other so much.Rita was always the adviser, the ‘do the right thing' kind of person. She was always logical about everything and she was really important in this group. If not for her, God knows how many mistakes we would have made.
Amanda. This one was a social butterfly. She was always on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and even Tiktok, she always brought trending gist. She was really funny and care free.
Bisi. She was a little like Amanda. Liked parties, got drunk, all about the money and flexing.
Now you see why Rita was important.I was the youngest among us. I was twenty-one years old, the rest of them were twenty-three years old. We were all in our final year anticipating graduation. We were in the same department studying the same course.
“Hmm, you are finally back. This your reading eh” Bisi said as I walked in.
“Bisi, I don’t have your time. Abeg what is Amanda doing?” I looked at Amanda dancing in a weird way. It would have looked great on a dancer or any one who is flexible at least.
“Dance challenge” Bisi and Rita replied laughing.
Amanda ignored us.
“How was your study session?” Rita asked.
“It was good. I met a guy” They all stopped what they were doing and looked at me.
“Abeg, next time na me and you go go that library” Amanda said.
“Well, we are just at friendship level though”
“What's his name?”
“Ayodeji”
“Hmm, be careful sha oh” Rita warned.
“Did he get your number?” Amanda asked
“No”
“How is he like?” Bisi asked.
“He’s tall, dark, has full black hair. He’s fine sha”
“Okay oh, just get to know him first. Don’t be overfriendly to him”
“Okay okay, can I eat food please?”
“Amanda made spaghetti and boiled egg, check the kitchen. That’s the last egg we have”
“Thank you”
“Hmm, so Lara will soon have her first boyfriend”
“Amanda. Stop it abeg. This is not the first guy I’m talking to, so rest joor “
“Sorry oh”
I got the food and sat with them.
“Amanda, the way you love onions eh” I said.
“What? Is the food not sweeter with it?”
“It is sha”
“Abeg, let’s watch a movie or something, we have time tomorrow. Mr. Akanni has cancelled his nine o’clock lecture tomorrow” Bisi said
“Speaking of Mr. Akanni, do you know this man has been picking on Christine because she refused to sleep with him, he said she will not graduate until he gets what he wants” Amanda said
“Na wa oh” We all responded at the same time.
“ Those male lecturers only God knows what they have slept with because even if they see goat with skirt they must sleep with it.” Bisi said.
“Christine is confused, she was even asking me if she should just agree, I told she shouldn’t abeg”
“Hmm, God will help her” I replied
“Amen oh”
“Let's watch ‘Redeeming Love', it has a novel too”
“What's it about?” I asked
“Let's watch it first na” They all replied.
“Sorry oh”We watched the movie and finally went to bed.
Maybe I would not even see Ayodeji again. It would be a pity especially after following me to the library. But why didn’t he ask for my number though?
